It took a self-imposed sabbatical from wrestling for Peder Sarsten to rediscovered his passion for the sport. It helped transform him from an average 160-pounder into the hottest comeback kid in New Jersey.

N.J. teams impressive in Duals
Some of the states elite programs served as good representatives of New Jersey wrestling yesterday at the Easton-Phillipsburg Duals in front of a crowd of 2,500 at Lafayette College in Easton, Pa.
Blair, ranked No. 2 in The Star-Ledger Top 20, No. 4 Phillipsburg, No. 6 Randolph, No. 7 Delaware Valley and unranked Voorhees all recorded impressive victories over strong out-of-state teams. While Voorhees split a pair of matches with Pennsylvania schools it may have gained the most from that experience.
Voorhees dropped a 36-25 decision to Phillipsburg-Osceola before defeating Stroudsburg, 34-22.

On Friday night the Northwest Jersey team traveled to Lopatcong and triumphed over a game Lopatcong squad by a 45-28 score. Sunday, the Vikes hosted an undefeated Blairstown team in a battle for first place. It was another thriller that came down to the last match only to see the Vikes defeated 36-34. The Northwest Jersey team record now stands at 5-2.
The Central Jersey team had a week to rest up for a tough South Plainfield team that will visit Voorhees on Tuesday night.
