Car Cover: Noah fabric, made by Wolf Automotive, from Mid American Designs

#1) Instructions have a warning not to use on new paint less than 3 months old! I called Wolf at (714) 799-9226 and they said that the warning does not apply to new cars from the factory. I used it as soon as I got the car, but only a few days before my garage was done.

#2) The instructions say to burn a hole for the fixed mast antenna. I heard that the hole begins to rip. Mid America tol me to sew a patch were the antenna goes and cut a hole in the patch for the antenna. Since I dont use the cover much, I just unscrew it.

#3) I would like to replace my antenna with a power antenna from Eckler's, part #37728 $100. When I called 8/10/99 the product was new and they were not sure yet if it would work on the hardtop.

HARD TOP OWNERS,
Had a chance to finally install a power antenna (factory one for convertible) last weekend. Got it through Ecklers (took a while to receive) for $100. This is an excellent price for an OEM antenna. These obviously can also be ordered through your local Chevy dealer for approximately the same price. Here are a couple of the highlights from my few hours of fun.
---------------------------------------------------------------
>Couldn't find a factory harness (not saying there isn't one). If it's in there it's behind the panel with the right rear speaker. Didn't feel like ripping that all apart, for one because the seat belt has to come out.

>Entire antenna install was done through the far right tail light hole.

>Factory fixed mast is held in with 2 10mm nuts and the rubber base.

>New power antenna does not include a bracket. Had to use a metal back strap (like ones that come with after market cd/cassette players) attached to the bottom of the antenna and mounted to the bolts for the factory ant. In hind sight I would see if that bracket (for a convertible) is available through the dealer.

>For constant 12v(orange) and ground(black) I went to the now infamous accessory plug in the passenger foot well. For a 12v + antenna signal I went to the turn on lead behind the radio that only shows 12v when the RADIO/CD is on, NOT the car (i.e. accessory). I believe it was a green wire but don't quote me. Use a DMM (multi meter) to verify and fuse with a max of 5A where you tap in behind the radio in the event that the wire grounds out. The contact at the accy plug is already fused.

The most time consuming part of the install was getting power/turn on. If the harness can be found this install is cake. Hope this helps anyone interested in upgrading this aspect of their Hard Top.
