James Hodgson arrived Australia 1843 "Royal Consort": Although unproven the shipping information I have located is I believe our James Hodgkinson. His voyage aboard the ship the ‘ROYAL CONSORT’, a barque of 527 tonnes, departed from Cork in Ireland on the 9th November 1843 arriving in Port Phillip Victoria on the 18th July 1844 after a voyage of 97 days. He was listed on the Royal Consort’s shipping records as being unmarried, aged 26 years, occupation labourer, religion Protestant. He left the ship of his own account, and the cost of his bounty passage paid for him was £18/14/- Also aboard the ship was an Abraham Hodgkinson who was third mate officer and could have been a relative of James?
