Stray cats can only be brought in if we have room. You can advertise in the newspaper, radio, cable for free under lost and found.
I've found a stray dog what do I do now?
We do not deal with stray dogs as it is the township that does that. You can either call your local bylaw enforcement person, or drop off the dog at Kawartha Animal Clinic. The dog will be kept for a few days and then put down if not claimed.

How much government funding does the shelter receive?
None, the VCHS receives no funding from any government agency. The only way we are able to sustain our shelter is through donations and fundraising.
