Best Graphics in a Video
Game
Shadow of Power (30.6%)
Wandering Hamster (19.4%)
2nd
Place
When it comes to graphics, Wandering
Hamster is in the same league as Final Fantasy II and the SNES RPGs. Huge
graphical effects in battle are a testament to programming, and the cute
cartoony look is professionally done. |
|
Secret of Cooey 2 (16.7%)
3rd
Place
Darkness Ethereal's 1999 flagship
RPG shows off full-screen drawings, animated enemies, and other subtle
details that make The Secret of Cooey 2 a force to be truly reckoned with
when it comes to the scope and detail of its Gothic-inspired graphics. |
|
Shadow of Power (30.6%)
1st
Place
It's one thing to say that your
graphics are Zelda-inspired. But Master Creating was able to take that
inspiration and create a vast universe full of lush backgrounds that could
be seen in one of three resolutions. Combine this with smooth animation
and a library of spells to choose from and you simply have one beautiful
game. |
|
Monospace (19.4%) 2nd
Place
With rotating objects and gigantic
explosions, Monospace was able to fittingly combine QB and Assembly to
create a game that knew no bounds in terms of the number of enemies on
the screen, the number of bullets you can shoot, and the amount of animation
that could fit into the screen. |
|
Wetspot 2 (13.9%) 4th
Place
Carefully rendered graphics are
only the beginning of Wetspot 2, as the game includes firework effects,
various sprite animations, and tons and tons of powerups. And all of this
is pulled off without hurting the game's two player control or by giving
the game slowdown. |
