Located at the entrance to the Potomac River
in The State of Maryland.
ACCESSABLE TO THE PUBLIC (exterior only)
Although this light is in Maryland, it is important for boats
entering or leaving Virginia.
This light was built in 1830 and retired in 1966. Located just offshore
here is a 39-foot beacon with a horn and 5-second flashing light visible
for up to 12 miles. Barely visible about 5½ miles north of here (offshore)
is Point No Point Lighthouse.
