About This Site

This site is brought to you by three web designers: Robert, Yan, and Isaac. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us via e-mail at uchicago2006@hotmail.com. Created in July of 2002, the University of Chicago Class of 2006 Student Central serves as a public web site that displays the talents and spirit of the class. We feel that we needed our own class web site run by us students. Therefore, we established this web site for the general purpose of being an online symbol for the Class of 2006. Thank you for your support!

Here are the profiles for the three web designers:

Hey everyone!!! I'm the founder of this little web page here so I hope you like it. My interest include but are not limited to country music, dancing, good food, cute/fun people, politics, and nice clothing! I love talking with people and getting to know more about different places so message me if you get a chance. I'm hoping to major in Political Science and then go to law school. On my visit to Chicago during Prospiee Week (Around April 23rd) I feel in love with the school, the people, and the city. I knew it was the place for me before the plane landed back in California. Since I applied to 18 schools and got into 15 it was a hard decision. I'm looking forward to September 21st and moving into Max Palevsky Central. Have a great summer and see you in the fall!

I took a personality test online and here is what it said. I think it describes me to a T. ---

Your Personality: You know how to work hard and play hard. Well, mostly work hard... though, you do like to play hard... Oh, and did we mention, you know how to talk everyone's ear off too. You don't know the meaning of the words "slow down," and you take pleasure in getting the most out of what life has to offer. Always ready for anything, you're famous for your anal retentive planning, but when there's a crisis, you're the first one everyone turns to for leadership. You like to learn for learning's sake, but you also have a competitive edge that you don't take lightly. Succeeding is important to you. Failure is unthinkable.

Bottom Line: Has anyone told you that you need to relax? Anyone in the last five minutes, we mean. Sure, it's great to have a good work ethic and to have an appreciation for what life has to offer... but Type A personalities like you need to take the time to let life happen a little bit. You don't have to plan every detail to have fun, and if you don't excel at everything, no one will see you as a failure. Try to balance your joie de vivre with some much needed chill time.

Defining Quote: "I love the first day of school. Everything about it. Picking the outfit, getting that first whiff of a new textbook, shopping for school supplies. Carefully selecting the three-ring binder that defines me as a person."

Yan Sun
Age: 17 (18 on September 29)
Hometown: Xuzhou, Jiangsu (China)
Major: Applied Math and/or Math w/Computer Science
AOL IM: YYPSSZ
Yahoo Screen Name: meteorologist1
Homepage URL: http://home.uchicago.edu/~yan/
Room Assignment: Max Palevsky West, Rickert House, 416B
I was born in China and have lived in several countries including Germany, Spain, and the U.S. during my childhood years. I went to high school in Knoxville, Tennessee. I became fascinated with web page development in 1996 and have created many web sites that include one for my school. I was webmaster of my school's web development team.

I want to major in Mathematics. It could either be Applied Mathematics with a minor in Biochemistry or Mathematics with a specialization in Computer Science. I plan to go on to grad school and get my Ph.D. someday. Looking forward to spending my next four years (at least) at the University of Chicago.

Isaac Wasileski (AKA: Yitzhak)
AIM: QuidQuid42
Hometown: Berlin, Germany (But I'm an American)
Room Assignment: Max Palevsky Central, New House, 409B
Concentration: Any one (or two) of the following: English, History, Philosphy, Economics, Political Science (Not in that order)... or maybe something completely different. Like Animal Husbandry.
I like stuff, just like you. I like the UChicago, especially our class (which appears to me to be fairly hardcore, in a chilled way). I like discussions and debates and arguments and, eventually, armed conflict. (It always ends up there...) I'm a radical pizzeria intellectual. My dream is to start a cafe called the Dead Philosophers' Cafe - we'd have the Nietzsche Triple Espresso, the Descartes Cocktail (I drink, therefore I am), and the Sartre Empty Cup. And if you know more about the philosopher than your waiter, you get it for free. (Finally, a worthwile job for philosophy majors!) And you leave a quote on your napkin as a tip. Anyone wanna help?See you whenever. Who cares when? I'm not counting the days. (70!)
