Title: Tiger Tiger
Rating: NC-17
Summary: "I have just the pet for you." Tyson walks into Count D's petshop only to come out with a rare Chinese Tiger and the adventure begins.

  Chapter 1
 
Tyson's eleventh grade class was on a field trip in china town China Town; in San Francisco that was. His class was strolling down the streets past little dark shops but Tyson got distracted when he saw an Indian elephant statue. When he turned he found his class gone.
 
He walked up and down the streets, and still couldn't find them. Turning around one last time Tyson turned one last time and found himself in front of a small dark shop with a small swaying sign that said. 'Count D's pet shop.'

Where had this shop come from? He was sure it hadn’t been there before... or had it?
Tyson didn't know nor did he care. The blue haired boy turned to leave when a calm yet eerier voice stopped him. "You look lost young man… Come in for some tea," the voice asked him.

Tyson turned and found himself looking at a pretty Chinese man. He felt his body move on its own as he followed the man into the shop. Once inside a powerful smell of incense hit him, it was so powerful it was making him dizzy. Tyson gazed at man who had taken a seat on a pink couch. "Please have seat," the man didn't even look up at him as he said this, Tyson nodded and took a seat in a white chair.

"Thank you sir."

“Where are you from?" The man asked as a small goat like creature walked past Tyson and jumped onto the man's lap.

"Japan, I think I'm lost," Tyson said as the man gave him a cup of tea.

"Japan? Well I hope you enjoy your stay," the man said smiling.

"Thank you.."

The man gasped. "I'm sorry! I haven't told you my name. My name is Count D, owner
of this shop," Tyson nodded as he took a slip of the tea, it had a mint taste to it.

"I'm Tyson."

"So young Tyson… how did come across my shop?" D asked.

"I was with my class," Tyson shook his head." I guess I went one way and they took another and I ended up here."

D nodded then asked." Well are you interested in buying a pet?" His purple
and gold eyes burned into Tyson's. "I'm sure I have something for you."

"No thanks, my teachers with freak, and my Granddad hates pets," Tyson said.



“Come with me, I have something for you," D said as he stood. The Goat beast stayed in its place but watched as Tyson followed D to some doors.

The doors opened, and it was an endless hall of doors. As they passed the blue haired boy could make the sounds of wild beasts on the either side.

"Here we are," D opened a door and Tyson looked inside... it was not a room
at all, it was a…

"A Forest?" D nodded and the two walked in, the doors closed behind them. The boy looked at the forest, it was like he was in the middle of a rainforest. "What is this?" Tyson asked

"A room," D said as they walked deeper. "What I'm about to show you is a very rare being. He is a recent acquisition, very rare. No one has been able to tame him or give him the home that he needs...though I think perhaps...you could..." As D talked Tyson felt as if he was being watched, it sent chills up his spine. D kept walking till he got to a wall. On this wall was a large scroll with nothing on it.

"Watch," D said. Tyson looked at the scroll and almost yelled in shock. On the scroll the outline of a Tiger was being drawn as if some unseen hand was drawing at a fast pace. Once it was done, the tiger's head moved and so did the body.

Then it started walking toward D and himself. The Tiger placed its front paw out of the painting, witch turned into a clawed hand. Soon the whole body was out of the painting.


It was a boy; he was nearly nude, covered by a white encrusted belt around his slim hips, which held up a black loincloth that went to his knees. Golden bands covered his arms. He was tanned a bit. Over his body where black marks like strips, and he also had long hair that almost hit the ground, pulled into a thin ponytail.


Tyson was taken aback as the boy raised his head and looked up at him. His Amber eyes were bright like the sun itself. One could get lost by staring into them.

"What you see is a very rare Chinese Tiger, the last of his kind," D said softly snapping Tyson out of his daze. Tyson nodded in agreement, watching the ‘boy’ at D's side closely. “He has been restless and perhaps you could do him more justice then I..." he trailed off.

"He’s_ wow_" Tyson was lost for words. "And he's a Tiger?" D nodded.

"Yes, the story goes that long ago Chinese Tigers were seen all over in the hills of china. But as soon as man stepped foot on the land they ran the tigers out. Killing them, using them for tools of war and many other things." D looked over at the tiger boy who was walking around.

"It was not long before they were all killed off, all but one. He was the Tiger Prince, but before he died, he begged man to just leave. But sadly man didn't do what he asked and the Tiger Prince died. "

D looked Tyson in the eye. "But that' s only a story." D smiled and the Chinese man clapped his hands and the tiger stood by him once more. "He may be your new owner, say hello."

The Tiger boy looked at Tyson and smiled, "I'm Rei, it's nice to meet you." he bowed. Tyson bowed back to him, unsure of what to say.

"I'm Tyson." He said dumbly. "How much?" Tyson asked, surprised at his own words. D smiled his eerie smile.

"The fee has been taken care of, there is only the contract now," he said softly, drawing forth a sheet of paper and handing it to the boy. " Because this tiger is very rare, there are 4 rules you must follow."

Tyson read over the agreement, listening as D spoke. "Firstly, I will give you a supply of incense. You must have some burning at all times as it...soothes him," he began.

"Secondly… he has to have room to play around, for he is very playful. Third He must be fed every 2 days, and lastly, you must never remove the Necklace I'm going to give you during the day."

He smiled lightly, his hair falling over his violet eye in an almost creepy manner. "Can you abide by these rules?" Tyson nodded with out a second thought and signed his name to the bottom of the paper. But for some reason he felt like he saw writing away his soul, but he shook it off and handed it to D. The count smiled his errie smile and turned to looked at the tiger/boy, who was busy rubbing his ear.

“Rei, this is your new owner." The tiger looked at Tyson and smiled.

"I'm honored to have you as an owner."

"How am I going get Rei past my friends?" He asked. D smiled and passed  the form under his kimono’s arms as he pulled out a jeweled necklace. "This is the necklace I was talking about." D said. He placed the necklace on Rei's neck. There was flash of light, Tyson blinked and looked around, there was no Rei, then he felt a purr in his arms. Looking down Tyson found that Rei had turned into a small house sized Tiger cub.

"Come on, I believe you need to find your friends." D said as he walked out of the room. Tyson patted Rei's white and black head as he followed. Once back in the main room Tyson turned and bowed to Count D. "I'll take good care of him," the blue haired boy said. "I'm sure you will." The count said as Tyson walked out.

Once out side Tyson found that it getting a bit late it was already dusk. "TYSON!" Tyson looked saw his class and the teacher waiting for him down the street. "Get over here right now!" His teacher yelled.

As Tyson walked over to them he whispered to Rei in his arms. "Stay still I can't let them know about you." Rei let off a purr to show he got what Tyson was staying. After his teacher yelled at him it was time for them to had back to the hotel. On the way back Tyson's friend Max who was looking at the white fur in his arms. "Cool, what’s that?" He asked, trying to pet it.

Tyson moved his arms. "I'll tell you at the hotel," he hissed  

Once back at the hotel Tyson and Max went to their rooms. "Make sure the door is locked," Tyson said. Max nodded and locked the door.

"So what's so hush?" Max asked as Tyson set the ball of white fluff on his bed near the wall.

"Look, what I got." Tyson patted Rei’s head and Rei lifted his head. ‘Meow,’ Rei mewed as he looked at Max.

"Damn…were did you get that?" Max asked as he rubbed Rei’s ears. Tyson told him about Count D and Max looked at Tyson like he lost his mind. "Right, your kitty is really a tiger boy named Rei… I may be blond but I’m not a dumb ass. That’s you."

Tyson‘s hair looked as if a shock volt went up his body, his hair stood on a end a bit. "Here I’ll show you." Tyson put his hands on Rei’s neck and pulled off the necklace.

Max covered his eyes when there was a flash of light. "What was that?” he asked then he felt something heavy on him. Max opened his eyes and was face to face with Rei, who was still in between his legs and leaning on him. "HOLY SHIT!" Max yelled, he jumped, which mad Rei fall back on the ground with a loud 'Thump.'

"What the hell?" The blond asked.

"It's Rei! I told you!" Tyson yelled and Max backed up.

"That's the cat?" the blonde asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Yep." Rei sat up and rubbed his head. "Sorry, about that, you must have shocked Max." Tyson said as he helped Rei up.

"Ummm sorry. It's not every day you see a cat become a teenage boy." Max said with a nervous laugh.

"That’s true," Rei said laughing.

Max yawned and stretched, "I'm going to bed." He said as he pulled off his top and hopped into the bed.

"Same goes for me." Tyson walked into the bathroom to shower without another word.

"So, what’s it like?" Rei looked at Max.

"Huh? What do you mean?" The tiger asked as he cocked his head to the side.

"To be a tiger."

Rei faced Max and looked thoughtful for a moment. "Not so bad, I have freedom," Rei said. Just then Tyson came out of the bathroom wearing black boxers. Rei blushed a bit and turned his head. Tyson got in the bed and looked at Rei as he laid at the foot of the bed.

"Are you going to be okay?" He asked his voice held worry.

"Yes, I'm going to be fine." Rei yawned as he stretched his body. "Good night."

"Night."

With that Tyson turned off the light and they all fell in to a deep sleep.


 
  Chapter 2

Rei slowly opened his eyes, letting his eyes get used to the darkness. He looked around, looking out the window it was almost dawn, and he was getting kinda hungry. Rei walked over to Tyson, with out waking him up and sat in front of his sleeping face. 

Tyson looked cute sleeping, if you didn’t count the drool. "Tyson?" Rei whispered as he poked at Tyson with his clawed hand. "Tyson wake up, I’m hungry" Rei said, but Tyson didn’t move. "Tyson," by now Rei was getting a bit annoyed. Now Tigers don’t like being ignored, and Rei was hungry. "TYSON!" Rei roared. Still Tyson didn’t wake up, nor did Max.

"Fine, I’ll do it myself." Rei hissed as he jumped off the bed. He walked over to the door, making sure no one was near by and walked out. 

Just as Rei’s tiger tail was out of sight, Tyson’s and Max’s Teacher, Mr. Ranmaru, walked out of his room and down the hall to their’s.

 

"Hey you two!" He yelled banging on the door. "Open this door right now!"  The blond man waited for someone to open the door, tapping his foot impatiently. Soon some one did and that someone was Max.

"Yea…" He asked half sleep as he rubbed his eyes.

"What the hell was that roar?" Mr. Ranmaru asked the blonde child.

“Roar? What?" Max couldn’t even keep his eyes open as he swayed back and forth.

"Never mind, Go back to sleep." Their teacher said as he sighed. Max nodded and wobbled back to bed, once Max’s head hit the pillow he was off in dreamland till his mind caught up at what was missing. His blue eyes shot open and he looked at Tyson’s bed.

No Rei. “Shit!" Max stumbled out of the bed as fast as he could. "Tyson!" He yelled. The blue haired teen didn’t move at all. “TYSON!" Max slapped the blue haired boy a good six or seven times yelling the entire time. “Wake up you damn Bastard!" Max yelled, reduced to swearing now.

”I’M UP!" Tyson yelled as he pushed the pissed blond off his body. "Why did you get me up?" he asked as he scratched his head.

“Oh I don’t know! Look around the room and tell me if you see something missing?" Max asked.

Tyson looked around the room, it took a few seconds, but then his eyes got big. “WE DON’T HAVE BREAKFAST!" He yelled. Max hit him upside his head as he felt a headache coming. Count on Tyson to be yelling about breakfast. "No! Your Tiger is missing!"

"WHAT?!"

~~~ With Rei~~

(An/ Okay here it’s about to get a bit odd. Let me point out that Max, Tyson, and another person can see Rei in his human from. Other people see a Big White Tiger.)

Rei walked down the numerous stairs following his noise towards delicious smells. He picked up the smell of hot cooking meat somewhere on the bottom floor.

The Tiger boy hopped down the stairs and found that he couldn’t open the door, seeing how you needed a key. Growing slightly annoyed he glowered at the door. He wanted that food. Then his mind caught up and he remembered he was not wearing the necklace that made him a cat. He also remembered Count D’s rules about the necklace and didn’t want Tyson to be mad. So he decided he had to find a better why to get to that food.

Rei hid in the shadows of a corner waiting for the door to open. Once it did, due to a maid coming through he shot though the door and all the maid saw a flash of white.

~~~~ Tyson and Max~~~~
Tyson and Max looked over the room and sure as hell, Rei was nowhere to be found. "That means he must have gotten out of the room," Max said. "Iyaha! You have to find him! The count said never to let him out during the day without his necklace." Max looked at Tyson, the boy looked to be near tears.

”Don’t worry!" Max said as he pulled on some clean pants and looked at his cell phone clock, which said 6:00 am. "The plane for Japan leaves in 4 hours, it takes 1 hour to get to the airport, so that means we have 2 hours to find him in this hotel.” Max said as Tyson pulled on his pants and forced a smile.

”We have to make sure no one sees him!" Tyson said, “You go right and I'll go left" Max nodded and both boys ran out of their room to look for their missing Rei.

~~ with Rei~~~

Slowly the Tiger walked down the down the hall, making sure not to be seen. With his kitty nose, Rei smelled something good come from the kitchen. Just then Rei heard the sound of people so he hid under a cart that was sitting right next to him. He watched from under the cart cover as the people walked by then without warning he felt the cart being pushed somewhere. Unknown to him it was being pushed right into the Kitchen.

Just as the cart with Rei under it went into the kitchen Max and Tyson ran into each other. "I can't find him Tyson." Max said. "How the hell is so hard to find a tiger? They can't hide anywhere."

"I know, but we have to find him!" Tyson said as he crossed his arms.

“Find who?" Both boys jumped at the sound of the voice and turned around to see Hilary. The girl was always putting her nose where it didn’t belong.


“Ummm… We have to find… ummm,” Max stuttered. “We have to find Tyson’s teddy bear.” Max lamely lied, hoping she’d buy it.

”What?” Tyson and Hilary said at the same time.
 
“Yea Tyson, don’t you remember? You woke up this morning, crying saying you lost your teddy bear, Mr. Bubbles!” Max said as he looked at Tyson .

How dare Max say he had a teddy bear! “Um. Yeah. That’s right!” Tyson said as he glared at Max from behind Hilary. ..

“Oh, come on Tyson. I’ll help you find Mr. Bubbles,” Hilary said as she sighed and shook her head. “But first we have to get some breakfast.” Hilary sat down; she pulled Tyson and Max down as well as she continued shaking her head.

Hilary picked up the menu, just as a waiter came out of the kitchen with a cart of drinks.

“This looks so good, what are you guys going to have?” Hilary asked as the waiter came to take their order.

“I’ll just have come Grits and eggs,” Max quickly said.

“I’ll have the same. What about you Tyson?” Hilary asked as she smiled.

"Nothing," he said, his head turned down. The boy was too worried about Rei to eat. Hilary and Max looked at Tyson like he was from another planet.

"You don't want to eat?!" Hilary asked as she gaped at him. Then she put her hand on his head.

"Are you sick? Hold on I'll go get the teacher." She quickly said and just as quickly she ran off.

Max looked over at Tyson. "You’re really worried about him, huh?" Tyson nodded his head, as a few tears ran down his face.



~~ With Rei in the Kitchen~~

Rei watched as people walked around him from under the table, but he was getting annoyed. Just then he saw a waiter walk by with some hot bacon. ‘Yumm,’ Rei thought to himself. Just as he was about to walk out from under the cart it started to move.

'Damnit!' he thought as the cart was pushed away from the bacon. He waited for it to stop his tail flipping around impatiently. When it did, he looked under the cover and saw humans all sitting at tables. 'Oh goodie,' he thought.

Max looked up at the cart that had his food on it, when he spotted a tail poking out of the cart’s bottom. 'Oh my...' he thought. "Tyson!" He hissed.

"What?" Tyson asked.

"Rei's under that food cart." He said pointing towards the twitching tail.

”We have to find a way,” Tyson hissed as he looked at Max, his face contorted in a look of panic, “to get him out.”

At that moment both their minds went into overdrive. How were they going to get a tiger boy out from underneath a food cart without being seen? This proposed a problem like none they had ever dealt with before. 

As the waitress began putting the plates of food down their plan went into action. The actions happened quickly. Max reached over for the salt as soon as his food was set down and knocked over several drinks and the waitress panicked quickly. 

Max grabbed at the napkins, and tried to clean the drinks off just as the flustered waitress began apologizing and ran into the back to retrieve more napkins in order to aid Max, leaving the cart where it was.  Tyson snatched the sausage off of Hilary’s plate and dangled it in between the cart and the table. The smell of the food was too much for Rei to resist as the cloth that covered the cart lifted and Rei poked his head out, sniffing the aroma of meat in the air. 

“Come on Rei-Rei,” Tyson cooed as soon as Rei’s deep golden eyes came into view. The tiger-boy didn’t take long to pounce out from underneath the cart and bat at Tyson’s hand with his own clawed hands, leaving a very deep scratch.

He munched happily on the sausage as Tyson dangled another in front of his nose. It went on like this until Tyson had managed to coax him underneath the table. He sighed in relief as he leaned back into his chair and sucked on his bleeding hand as he fished the necklace out of his pocket with the other.

Rei rubbed against his legs and slid his head through the necklace as Tyson held it down below the table.  At that moment the waitress came rushing back with a pile of napkins, followed closely by Hilary and their teacher. 

Tyson dropped his hand and grinned broadly at the waitress. “I’ll take an order of steak and eggs and a stack of pancakes too! Make the steak extra rare!”  Mr. Ranmaru just shook his head and scowled as he left the kids alone. He knew he was going to pay someday for being a teacher. And it seemed like today was that day. 

“Hey! I thought I was supposed to have sausage. Tyson!” Hilary yelled as she glared at the blunette. She was sure he had something to do with this.   

They had spent the rest of breakfast enjoying themselves, Tyson feeding Rei pieces off his steak everytime Hilary turned her back. 

It had been fun except for the fact that Tyson’s fingers were now sore from Rei’s sharp teeth but that didn’t matter.  “You look like you’re pregnant,” Max said as he snickered, pointing at the bulge inside Tyson’s jacket from the tiger curled up inside it.  “Just you wait till we get back Max,” Tyson chided him as he narrowed his eyes at his best friend.

“You are gonna get it.” Max laughed as he ushered Tyson into the room, the ball of white fur that was Rei jumped out from his jacket in a moment and began attacking the laces of Max’s shoes. His claws stuck in them as he gave a roar of annoyance.  Tyson grinned as he tackled Max for his latest remark and brought him down to the ground, Rei helping his owner in bringing down this new ‘prey’. 

It was all fun and games until Max gave a yelp and held his arm, deep scratches decorating it as the blood began to seep into the carpet.  “Bad,” Tyson lectured the little tiger as he shook his finger in front of Rei’s nose and then ran off to grab a bandage.

 Max stretched out on the bed as Tyson wrapped the bandage around his arm. “Those are some nasty claws.”

“Yeah man,” Tyson muttered as he looked down at Rei’s begging face. His scowl softened into a laugh as he finished Max’s bandage and scooped up Rei, holding the furry bundle close.  "Don't do that anymore." He whispered into Rei's ear. Rei purred lightly to show he was sorry and licked Tyson's face.

"Come on." Max said as he started to pack his bags. Tyson nodded and got to work as Rei went to sleep on the bed.

After the boys packed their bags, Max saw they had only ten minutes left. Tyson was sitting on the bed petting Rei's fur. "So how are we going to get him on the plane?" Max asked as Rei woke up and yawned.

"This way," Tyson said with a grin as he held up a book bag. "We are going to put him in here and I'll get on the plane."

Max grinned broadly, "Wow, you’re smart." He said joking with an air of sarcasm.

"Ahahaha, bite me," Tyson muttered as Rei cocked his head and looked curiously at him. "Rei," he looked down at cub. "You’re going to be put in this bag when we get on the plane, okay?"

Rei nodded and walked into the bag without any argument. His head popped out from the flap and purred loudly.

"Good boy," Tyson said as he patted Rei and then leaned down and kissed the top of Rei's head. The tiger blushed, but Tyson didn't see it, only Max. Max blinked. 'Did... did the tiger just blush?' he thought. He shook his head, so sure he was seeing things.

Just then their teacher came in and said it was time to go. Max and Tyson grabbed their bags quickly as Tyson smiled.

"You have to keep your head down," Tyson said as Rei did so. Tyson slipped on his backpack with Rei in it, and they walked out of the hotel.



They class got there just in time for the plane and just had to put their bags on the X ray before they could go though to the plane. "Damn," Tyson hissed as realization hit him.

"What?" Max asked as they got closer to the X ray, not yet seeing the problem.

"They'll see Rei," he muttered back to Max but it was too late to do anything and it was Tyson's turn to go through.

Tyson placed the bag on the X ray belt as he walked under the metal detector and prayed the guards wouldn’t see a living breathing tiger cub. The guards looked at Tyson's bag and saw nothing wrong, but a tiger teddy bear, so they gave Tyson his backpack. After Max was done the class went to wait for their plane.

As they waited, Tyson opened the bag, to let Rei get some air. But just as Rei poked his head out, Hilary came out of nowhere and snatched him from the bag.

"Oh! He's so cute!" She squealed as she started to swing him around. "This is your teddy bear Tyson?” She glanced at Tyson with an adoring look on her face. “He is sooo cute!"

Rei glared at the brown haired girl for doing this to him. He wanted no more then to claw her eyes out, but didn't for Tyson would be mad at him, remembering how mad he had gotten when he had clawed the other boy. He was just playing though.

"Hilary, stop, give him back," Tyson said as he reached towards Rei. Hilary was about to say no when their teacher called them over to say the plane had just landed.

“Fine,” Hilary sighed as she held Rei out to Tyson and he took his tiger back, holding him closely before tucking him back into his bag, feeling the purrs emanating from Rei’s body.



It took all of about five minutes before Tyson ordered enough food to feed an army. Max sighed as the airplane attendant came back with two orders of spare ribs, one order of lamb chops, five hamburgers and way too much junk food.

“What? You didn’t order six Salisbury Steaks while you were at it,” Max said as he rolled his eyes.

“Wait!” Tyson waved at the attendant just as Max covered his mouth she turned with a look of death on her face that she was desperately trying to cover. She was wondering how she ever got stuck with the assignment of a plane full of High Schoolers. It was murder.

“He’s just joking,” Max quickly covered as the attendant went storming off.

“Tyson! Don’t you remember what happened last time you ate airline food!”

Tyson blinked his eyes as a face appeared over the seat in front of him. He stared at the face with the thick glasses as he felt Rei moving around on his lap, underneath the seat table. “Hey Chief!” Tyson grinned broadly as he reached under the table and pet Rei. Rei nestled against Tyson’s hand.

“Chief, where have you been,” Max grinned.
 
“I was checking out the bladers, Maxie. I got lots of data,” Kenny smiled as he turned back and buried his face back into his computer.

Tyson sighed in relief as Rei pounced onto the table top, his striped-tail wagging as his claws dug into the meat.



Max yawned as he saw the seatbelt light flash, signifying that they were landing. He stretched as he poked Tyson. The other boy didn’t move and neither did the tiger cub curled up on his chest.

“Tyson! Tyson!”

Tyson stretched and yawned, and Rei did the same stretching out his claws like the cat he was as his tail flipped into the air.

The sharp claws scraped against Tyson’s chest, causing the other teen to yelp out loud. “Rei! Careful!”

Max blinked as the tiger almost seemed to look ashamed. Rei leaned forward and licked at Tyson’s chest through the new holes in his shirt, trying to wash away the damage he had caused.

“Rei! That tickles!” Tyson yelled as he lifted the tiger up.

“We’re about to land,” Max quickly explained as he pointed up at the seatbelt light. “You better put Rei back.”

Tyson nodded his head as he slid Rei back into the bag. “Be good Rei. We’ll be home in a little bit.”

Max blinked again as he saw the tiger nod.


 
“Grandpa! I’m home!”

“T-man!” the old man rushed out and grabbed Tyson in a huge hug. “How about a nice helping of the chef’s one and only ‘four alarm special’.”

“Please no.”

"Grandpa, let Tyson rest," came a voice. Tyson looked behind him to see his big brother, Hiro standing in the doorway.

"Aww fine, you win this time T-man." The old man said as he let go of Tyson.

"I owe you." Tyson whispered as he walked past his brother.

Once in his room, Tyson locked the door, threw his stuff on the ground and let Rei out his pack. Tyson took off the necklace and Rei yawned as he rubbed his eyes. "Have a good nap?" Tyson asked as he started to dig though his bags.

"Yes. Who was that girl who had me?" Rei asked making a face.

"Oh that was Hilary, don't worry she won't do that anymore."

Tyson pulled out the incense that count D gave him, and lit it. Rei looked around Tyson's room and at the photos on the wall. Some had Tyson, Max and some other people. There was when one caught his eye.

It was a photo of Tyson sitting on a rock between a boy's legs. This boy had blue hair in the front spiked up, and the back was a dark blue. He had his arm around Tyson's neck and they where smiling. "Who is this?" Rei asked.

Tyson looked up to see what Rei was looking at. "That's... No one"

Rei looked at Tyson and saw that his owner was looking down. "No one?" Rei blinked. "That’s an odd name for some one."

Tyson laughed at Rei's cuteness. "Stay here, I’m going to take a bath." Tyson said as Rei nodded and went back to looking at Tyson things.

Tyson grabbed his stuff and walked out of the room and to the bath. After taking his things off, he got in. 'Damn it... why does it still hurt?' He thought as he looked up to the sky. He was thinking about Kai. The two used to be a couple. But Kai started to abuse Tyson as much as he could and Tyson broke it off.

Days later, Tyson had been shot in his gut by Kai's friend Tala. When asked about what happened he had lied. Tyson thought he was going to die with Kai around, but the red-eyed young man was forced to go back to his homeland, Russia.

Tyson sighed, but that was three years ago. Tyson couldn't be happier.

Tyson got out of the bath, and walked back his room, a towel wrapped around him. He opened the door and found Rei looking though a book. Rei looked up and blushed when he saw Tyson's wet body.

The tiger turned back around as fast as he could, without being seen. "Let me get dressed, and I'll show you around Japan in the day." Tyson said however he had not seen the blush.

Rei nodded and turned around, with his back to Tyson, the tiger's heart was beating fast in his chest, but he clamed it down. "Come on Rei, it's time for bed." Tyson said as he got under the covers.

Rei nodded and walked over to Tyson. Once Tyson's head hit the pillow he was asleep. Rei watched Tyson's face for a bit, and then slowly closed his eyes.



  Chapter 3

Early the next morning Tyson tried to sit up, but found he couldn't. He opened his eyes and waited for them to clear up. Once they did he found why he couldn't get up. Rei was lying on his body. No, not across but ON his body. Rei's head was resting on Tyson's chest and the rest was resting between his legs nestled in close to him.

The biggest blush of red formed on Tyson's face. Why the hell was he blushing? This was his pet! As far as Tyson could tell, Rei was knocked out in sleep. So he moved his body and slid Rei off him.

After Tyson got Rei off of his body without waking him up, he looked down at the sleeping tiger. It was hard to tell he was a tiger after all he just looked so cute. Tyson ran his fingers though Rei's bangs as he sighed in his sleep.

Just then the door opened and Max came in. "HELLO!" He yelled. Now Max can yell, and this yell rang in Rei's ears, which woke him up in a fright. His hair puffed out as he snarled, his tone deadly and his eyes narrowed into slits.

“Down kitty,” Max held out his hands as he stared at the tiger.

Rei relaxed and yawned as he saw that it was only Max. He could trust him.

“What’s the big idea,” Tyson covered his own yawn as he stretched his arms. His body was stiff, most likely from the tiger boy having slept on him all night.

“You were supposed to be at practice an hour ago!” Max pointed out as he crossed his arms over his chest. “The chief sent me to check what was keeping you.”

“One hour!” Tyson bolted out of bed, stumbling as he ran to get his clothes. He changed his clothes in the room, the indecency of it not even crossing his mind, after all no one was there but his best friend and his pet.

Rei licked his lips, wetting them as the blush crept over his face, especially as the boxers came off and were replaced by clean ones. His heart pounded as his gold eyes traced over Tyson’s lean body and he felt changes throughout his body.

A purr sounded from deep within his chest as his eyes widened, taking in fully the sight of Tyson’s body.

Max’s jaw dropped as he saw the unwavering attention Rei had on Tyson. Something was going on here, but it was way over his head.

Tyson finished getting dressed and turned towards Max, pulling his hair back in a ponytail as he propped his hat on his head.

“I’m ready to go,” Tyson said as he walked out the door. Rei however was following them. “Rei, stay home!” Tyson ordered him and as soon as they began walking again Rei ran after them. He didn’t want to be separated from Tyson.

Max shrugged his shoulders as they stood in the yard. “What can it hurt?”

Tyson nodded his head in agreement as he took the necklace out of his pocket and placed it over Rei’s head, instantly the boy turned into the tiger cub once more and rubbed against Tyson’s legs.

Tyson picked him up and held him close to his chest. The rough pink tongue darted out and licked his nose lightly causing Tyson to laugh.

“Come on Tyson,” Max whined. “The chief is gonna be mad if we’re any later.”

Tyson nodded his head, following Max towards the training area.

 

“You’re late,” Kenny said matterafactly.

“Yeah, sorry,” Tyson said. He was still trying to figure out where Kenny got ordering him around. After all, he was the captain.

Tyson set Rei down and he scratched him behind the ears before he stood and grabbed his beyblade, locking it into his shooter.

“What’s that?” Kenny asked as he pointed at Rei.

“Oh, he’s my new pet,” Tyson explained as Max grabbed his own shooter.

Daichi however was preoccupied with looking at Rei. Rei’s butt wiggled as it was stuck in the air and he pounced on Daichi, claws outstretched. He bit, but Daichi bit back, chasing the tiger cub and wrestling softly with him.

Max laughed out loud at the sight of Rei and his new playmate. Rei pounced on Daichi, purring loudly as he wrestled with his new friend, biting and clawing until finally Tyson cleared his throat.

“Daichi we need to practice,” Daichi nodded his head as he brushed Rei off him and stood up. He stood in front of the low beyblade dish and locked in his beyblade.

“Let it Rip!” All four of the bladers launched their beyblades, sending them sailing into the dish.

Rei’s eyes traced the spinning blades and without warning he pounced, landing right in the middle of the dish. He swapped and the tops, knocking them over and smashing them against the sides of the plastic dish. He chased after them as they skidded around, his paw batting playfully at them.

“Rei!” Tyson exclaimed as he looked down at the tiger. Rei grabbed one of them in his mouth and jumped out of the dish and began running with it.

Kenny sighed as they all chased after the tiger, his swift feet avoiding them every time they tried to snatch him. Eventually he stopped, so sure he had outrun them, his prize secure in his mouth as he purred.

But that’s when he saw the lumbering giant heading his way. It stuck its wet nose in his face and pushed him over.

The dog wagged its tail as it barked loudly, sending fear through Rei as he swatted at it. It lumbered over him, jumping on him. Rei only knew he had to get out of there or else he would be crushed.

Rei ran as fast as he could, the dog on his tail until his eyes spotted a tree. His claws dug into the soft bark and he launched himself up it as fast as he could until he was well out of reach.

He panted as he clung to the high branch he was perched on and peered down as Tyson ran towards the tree and swatted the dog away. He stared up in the high branches of the tree and shielded his eyes, catching a glint of the white fur that he knew to be Rei.

“Rei!” Tyson called his name and saw a striped face peering down at him, his prize still clenched deep in his teeth.

“What he’s worried about more? His cat or his beyblade?” Max muttered to Kenny who scolded him.

“Maxie! This isn’t a time to joke.”

“Come on Rei,” Tyson called as he held out his arms. “We’re not mad, just come down.”

Rei prowled over the branch as he looked down. It was too high to jump and there was no way he was going to climb down. That left only one thing to do. He lay down, his tail drooping off the edge of the branch and he held the beyblade between his paws and meowed pitifully, pleading for help.    

Tyson groaned as he heard Rei’s cries. The tree was way too high to climb. Then suddenly a beyblade shot through the air. It sliced through the tree branch dropping Rei to the ground.

Tyson gasped and jumped, just catching Rei in the knick of time. “Who are you?” Tyson called out as his eyes searched around. “Come on you jerk! Show your face! You almost killed my cat!”

Kenny bent down and picked up the blue beyblade with the red streaks. He felt his own fear as the red bit chip came into his view

“Show yourself!” Tyson yelled as the balder came out from the shadows. The wind whipped his scarf freely in the air, his face a look of death as Tyson felt his breath freeze in chest.

No, it couldn’t be, he couldn’t be back.

“You’re not welcome here Kai!” Max yelled, his face showing truly just how furious he was.

Rei sniffed the air. He didn’t like the smell of this guy. He hissed as his fur puffed out. His eyes narrowed into dangerous slits as he stayed close to Tyson.

“Please leave, we don’t want any problems,” Kenny pleaded as he handed the beyblade back to its owner.

“Pitiful. A worthless pet for a worthless blader,” a smirk touched his lips as he stood there. “You’ll never be worth anything besides a slut, remember that Tyson.”

Tyson almost felt the tears come again. He couldn’t deal with Kai again. His old words always rang so clearly in Tyson’s ears. He was worthless. He deserved to die.

Rei jumped from Tyson’s arms and his claws dug through the cloth of the pants and into skin, he bit, satisfied at the yell of pain from the teen. He wanted him to die but he wasn’t large enough, not with the necklace on.

Kai kicked, sending the tiger flying back. He rolled as his small body hit the ground and he was on his feet again, racing back to attack Kai.

That was when Daichi snapped into action. He saw the tears stream down Tyson’s face and his hatred burned. In their years of practice they had grown so close and he wouldn’t even be on the team if it weren’t for Tyson.

Daichi attacked, launching his beyblade as he ran towards Kai and his strong jaw latched onto Kai’s arm, his teeth digging in as his beyblade made its own attack on the Russian.

Kai threw Daichi back, kicking Rei away as well as he launched his own blade. It hit Daichi’s jaw with a sickening crunch and then returned to Kai’s hand.

Kai snorted as he left. “None of you pathetic wasted life forms are worth my time,” he snorted as he left. They all watched as he left.

“I’ll take Daichi to the doctor,” Kenny told Max. “You take Tyson home.”

Max nodded as he wrapped his arms around Tyson who was hugging Rei close to his chest.

 

  Chapter 4

Rei sat on the edge of the bed, the necklace now resting on a table. Tyson had told him everything and now he hated Kai even more.

Next time he would kill Kai if he could.

Tyson opened his eyes, reddened from crying as he looked at Rei who had sat there, trying to comfort him.

Rei wasn’t quite sure why he did what he did then but he did it. He placed a clawed hand on Tyson’s face, carefully wiping away the tears, and leaned down until he felt his lips come in contact with Tyson’s soft ones.

It was like time stayed still, Tyson's eyes got big when it clicked what was happening. Tyson pushed Rei off him and backed up. Rei made a low meow as he hit the floor; he looked up just to see Tyson walk out of the room.

Rei felt his heart break into pieces. He hadn’t felt this bad since when he had almost killed Count D’s friend, Leon. Tears started to fall down his face as he curled up in a ball.



Tyson leaned on his bedroom door and sat on the floor. What the hell was that?! Okay, he was just kissed by his PET! But... why.... did he like it? 'That’s sick!' Tyson yelled in his head.

'First Kai comes back, and now this' Tyson thought as he ran his hand though his hair. 'I can't feel for my pet!'

 

“Keep it there little man!” Daichi put the ice pack back on his face as he tipped the chair back he was sitting in.

“But this is boring grandpa,” Daichi whined as he sat there.

“Then go tell Hiro it’s his turn to do the dishes,” the old man shooed Daichi off and the redheaded teen went off at a run.

He peeked inside Hiro’s room only to find he wasn’t there so he decided to search. He heard soft meowing from Tyson’s room however and decided to investigate.

Slowly he peeked in there and saw something curled up. He figured it was just Tyson’s cat until the ‘cat’ peered up and looked at him.

Daichi blinked as he looked at the boy curled up in Tyson's room. " Who the hell are you?" Daichi asked. He was not sure what was going on. But the boy had better have a good reason on to why he was in there.

Rei looked up at Daichi, forgetting he was in his human form, Rei stood up. It was good to his friend’s face. He walked over to Daichi and then jumped him. Daichi didn't have time to do anything as this boy jumped on him and started licking his face.



Tyson walked around the park still thinking, but unknown to him something, or some one, was following him. Tyson stopped and sighed and he looked to the sky, as a few tears fell from his face. This is where he and Kai first met, back when Kai was nice to him. Tyson turned around and came face to face with his nightmare.

Kai growled at Tyson, making him back up a bit.

 

Tyson gasped as he shook. It was Kai, Kai was right there in front of him. “Get out of my way before I put you where wastes of flesh like you belong. Ten feet under.”

Tyson clenched his fists as he stood there, the tears falling down his face. “Please no Kai.”

“You are so pathetic. Get out of my way and go crying back to those wimps you call friends. None of you are worth my time.”

“Please, please don’t say things like that. Why are you doing this?”

Tyson felt the fist that hit his jaw. He stumbled back and clutched at his stomach as the punch landed on his stomach. He groaned as he stumbled back and hit the ground, the tears falling from his eyes.

 "I told you, I'd kill you even if you left me."

 

Daichi pushed the teenager off him as he laughed. He caught sight of the gold eyes and recognition struck him.

“Rei?”

Rei purred as he wrestled with Daichi, rolling on the floor. Right then was when Max burst in the room. He was panting as he stared at Rei in his human form.

“Rei, you’re not supposed, I mean, Daichi… Tyson,” Max stuttered.

Daichi looked up at Max confused by his stuttering. “Nevermind! Kai found Tyson!”

“What?” Daichi was out the door with Rei following him.

“Wait!” Max yelled as he grabbed the necklace and caught up to them, slipping it over Rei’s head. He instantly turned into the tiger cub and jumped into Daichi’s arms as the shorter blader followed on Max’s heels.

However when they arrived at the location Max feared they had arrived too late as they saw Kai standing there, hovering over Tyson who was curled in a fetal position.

Rei ran over and licked Tyson’s face, his small pink tongue darting out as he meowed softly.

“How sweet, your pathetic posse is here to save you,” Kai gave a sickening smirk as he turned to regard Max and Daichi. It would be an understatement to say Daichi was furious.

His anger burned hotter than anything as he saw Tyson on the ground and he remembered all the time they had been together. Sure they acted like they couldn’t stand each other but that meant nothing compared to the bond they shared.

“Kai!” Max yelled as he stood there. “You’re going to pay for this!”

Tyson could hear the yells and he winced inwardly at the pain he was feeling as Rei nuzzled against him. His body hurt so badly. He wasn’t aware of the ending of the fight, only that Max helped him up and the tears burst out again but this time from the pain.

Max picked him up and Daichi tried to take Rei to make it easier but Tyson clung tightly to him.

Daichi gave a helpless shrug as he followed Max down the road.
 

 
  Chapter 5

When they arrived at the hospital to get Tyson’s injuries checked over both his grandpa and Hiro were already waiting there.

Hiro’s fists were clenched tightly as his crimson eyes darted from one to another. “I told you I would kill him if he ever came back,” Hiro snarled as he looked at his grandfather.

“Cool it H-man, you can’t do anything.”

“I can make Kai wish he was dead!” Hiro turned his head downwards as he shut his eyes. Normally he was calm and collected but this was too close to home. Kai had gone way too far this time.

Tyson clutched tightly to Rei as Max helped him into a wheelchair and the nurse filed his report, wrapping the plastic band around his wrist. She smiled sweetly as she looked down at Tyson.

“Can you leave your stuffed animal here?” She asked, her voice sugary sweet.

Tyson shook his head as Rei nuzzled against him. He was never going to let Rei go. Slowly he was pushed into a room and helped onto a bed where he stayed for quite a while before they let Hiro in to stay with him.

Hiro sat in the hard plastic chair as he ruffled Tyson’s hair. He saw the little tiger breathing as he curled up, asleep on Tyson’s chest, tucked under his chin but he said nothing. It only proved that the little white furball wasn’t the stuffed animal they had thought him to be.

“It’ll be alright Tyson,” Hiro whispered as the tears streamed down his face. He kissed his little brother’s forehead as he wiped away the tears. “You’re strong, you’ll be okay.”

“Thanks big brother,” Tyson said as he leaned into Hiro’s arms.

The nurse came in and smiled at Tyson before wheeling the bed away towards the X-ray room, carefully pulling Rei from Tyson and placing him on Hiro’s lap.

“He’ll be fine,” Hiro told Tyson in a comforting voice as he softly pet the white tiger’s head. “He’ll be waiting for you when you get back.”

Tyson nodded his head as he was wheeled off to the X-rays.

Rei was fighting Hiro 's grip to get to Tyson. He clawed and bit at Hiro's arms but the man was not going to let go, "He'll be okay." Hiro whispered into Rei’s ear.
           
Rei calmed down, but he was worried. Hours had passed. Rei kept looking at Hiro's watch. His heart would jump whenever he saw a doctor but fell when they walked past. Then the nurse came back.

"You can see him now," she said. Hiro, Daichi, Grandpa, and Max got up to go see Tyson. Once in the room they saw that Tyson was sitting up, looking out the window. As soon as the walked into the room Rei jumped out of Hiro's arms and leapt onto the foot of the bed.

He carefully made his way to Tyson and laid down. Just then the doctor came in. "You are very lucky young man," the doctor said. "No bones are broken or anything, just some bruising."

"Will he be able to come home?" Hiro asked.
 
"Hai, he will," with that the doctor left.
 
"I wonder why Kai is back now after 3 years?" Daichi asked out loud.
 
"The Iron Beyblade bowl." Max said. "That’s got to be it, Why come back if not for that?"

"To kill me." Tyson said sadly. Rei looked up at Tyson with sad eyes and Hiro looked down at his baby brother. He'd been on the earth for seventeen years and had already seen death and hell.
 
"So should we drop out?" Daichi asked.

"No, we’ve worked too hard for this," Tyson said. Yet, he didn't think he could stand to see Kai in the battle.
 
"If that’s how you feel then, I'll watch after you guys when you all battle," Hiro offered.
 
"Okay homies, let’s go," grandpa said.



Back at the House, Max, Daichi, and Tyson all sat in Tyson room. Max called his dad to ask if he could stay over and he had said yes. The boys were now watching a movie and Daichi was sitting between Max’s legs.

Rei had his necklace off and was lying on Tyson's bed with his back facing them. He was still a bit sad over the kiss.
 
Tyson laid there in silence as Rei rolled over and nestled against his back. Everything seemed to be going wrong in his life right at that moment. Kai was back and out to kill him but somehow he felt safe.
 
He knew he shouldn’t be but he did.
 
A light blush brushed over Tyson’s cheeks as he felt Rei nuzzling against him. That was another thing that was wrong. He was attracted to his pet. However much he denied it the feelings would not leave.
 
A slight smile touched his lips. Both Rei and his friends had risked themselves to protect him from Kai. They were true friends.
 
Daichi yawned as he stretched and fell asleep in Max’s lap. His head was nestled on Max’s leg, causing the blond to laugh as he wrapped his arms around the smaller balder.
 
“If I didn’t know any better I’d think you had a thing for that monkey boy,” Max tilted his head back as he looked at Tyson.
 
“You’re imagining things.”
 
Tyson laughed at Max’s expression as Max held Daichi close. He grabbed the ice pack off the ground and held it to Daichi’s swollen jaw. He felt bad for the guy. He knew Tyson hadn’t meant to drag any of them into his problems but the fact of the matter was they were his friends. They’d never let Tyson face any problem alone.
 
“Am I?” Tyson asked as he watched Max cradle Daichi close. Max however didn’t answer. He just smiled as he held the smaller teen.
 
Tyson sighed as he rolled over and Rei nestled against his chest. He wrapped his arms around the tiger, almost as if to keep him from escaping as Rei emitted a satisfied sigh and his chest rumbled with loud purrs.
 
Tyson pat his head softly and his fingers traced the stripes that patterned his body. No matter how many times he told himself that Rei was his pet and nothing else, yet his heart and body argued.
 
It wasn’t that it should be abnormal. After all Rei was rather good-looking, Tyson thought to himself, as his hands ran over the lean body, his muscles tight and sinewy like the tiger he was.
 
“Tyson,” he heard Rei whisper his name as he slept on, his hands placed against Tyson’s chest as he cuddled close.
 
Max yawned as he smiled, watching Tyson and Rei. Slowly he got to his feet and started pulling out blankets from the closet and dropping them on the floor.
 
He returned to make up his own bed on the floor before crawling in, Daichi cuddling close to him. Of course he knew it wouldn’t be like that in the morning. 



  Chapter 6

“Whooo," yelled Daichi as he did a canon ball into the clear lake water. Max dove in right after him.

The team believed that Tyson needed a day off, so they all agreed to go for a swim. Hiro was sitting by a tree tanning while Max and Daichi were jumping off a cliff and into the water below. Kenny was working on his laptop and Tyson was trying to get a pissed off Rei into the water.

"Rei, come on, it’s not that bad." Tyson said walking though the water over to Rei. "It won’t hurt."

Rei shock his head no. "Tyson, most cats don't like water," Kenny said

"Yea, if Rei got in he'd be a big puff ball." Daichi said as Max did a swan drive off the cliff. Tyson turned back to Rei, who had turned his back on him and began licking his paw.

"Fine be that way." Tyson said as he went over to where Max and Daichi were. Rei watched as Tyson and his friends swam around. That was when he smelled it. It was sweet and minty. Rei raised his nose to follow the smell.

The smell led him away from the others but they didn't seem to care. Rei walked into a clearing and saw it. CATNIP!!! And tons of it!  Whoo! Rei had hit the jackpot baby!

Rei jumped head first into the catnip and rolled around in it as something watched him. But Rei was too much into his nip to see that something or that that something with  silver hair put a bag over him.

It was Tyson's turn to jump but before he did he looked over to Rei only to find Rei gone.

"Hey Hiro!" He yelled down, "where's Rei?"

Hiro looked and didn't see Rei. "I don't know!" Hiro yelled back as he shrugged his shoulders.

"WHAT?!" Tyson jumped and instantly swan towards the shore and towards Hiro. “Hiro! You were supposed to be watching him!”

Hiro sighed as he shook his head and sat up. “I told you to leave him at home Tyson! I’m not your cat sitter.”

Tyson ran onto the shore and pulled his t-shirt over his head, water still dripping off his body as he ran.

Max and Daichi were on his heels as he ran towards Kenny. “Chief! Ya think Dizzi can find Rei!”

Kenny nodded his head as he glanced back at his computer. “He went that way and he’s on the move,” Kenny said as he pointed in the direction Rei had taken earlier.

Hiro sighed as he heaved himself to his feet and followed the dripping boys as they ran into the clearing.

Tyson glanced around worried. “Rei! Rei! REI!”

“He couldn’t have gone far,” Max encouraged him. “We’ll have Daichi sniff him out!” He gave as huge grin as Daichi jumped on his back.

“What do you think I am! A dog! I’ll show you who’s the animal.”

“Let’s just get moving,” Tyson sighed as Daichi looked up from his spot on Max’s back as Tyson took off at a run. “Rei! Rei! Rei! REI!”

He ran, his breath slowly increasing as he tore through the underbrush and yelled out Rei’s name again and again.

Rei was gone, he was actually gone. He couldn’t believe it. ‘It’s all my fault!’ Tyson yelled at himself. ‘If I hadn’t acted that way when he kissed me he never would have left!’

Tyson continued to run, pushing himself as far as he could. “Rei! Rei!” His voice cracked into sobs as he stumbled from exhaustion. “Rei! Rei! I’m sorry Rei! Rei! Please Rei come home!”

Tyson dug his fingers into the ground as the tears fell. He wished Kai had killed him as he sat there crying. “REI!!!!”
 


Rei clawed at the bag as he heard the voice in the distance. It was Tyson, he knew it, and he was in pain.

Rei meowed loudly as he heard the yells in the distance die down. He had to get out! He had to get back to Tyson! What if that Kai guy had found him again?

In his struggle the necklace had slipped off his neck.

His kidnapper frowned as he noticed the bag had grown suspiciously heavy. He shook his head and continued onward until he reached his home where he dumped Rei out of the bag.

Rei shook his head as he landed on the ground. "What the hell is that?" A cold voice said. "I said get the Cat, not a Tiger!" Rei looked up and found that he was looking at Kai. Standing next to Kai was a sliver haired young man.

"You know... he looks a lot like Tala’s pet." The slivered haired one said. Kai looked down at the Tiger. Now the thing is, Kai didn't see a Boy but instead he saw a Tiger.

"Whatever Bryan. Give it to Tala's pet, that thing needs food I guess."

The boy, Bryan, grinned and moved to Rei but Rei jumped out of the way and ran down the hall. 'Got to get out,’ Rei thought. Rei ran as fast as he could go when he came to a dead end. ' Shit,' he thought.

"Here kitty, kitty." Bryan said as he stood in front of Rei. He was blocking Rei’s way. Rei roared in rage and ran at Bryan.  Rei jumped at Bryan but Bryan shot him with a dart and Rei fell to the ground with a thump. He was out cold.

 

Tyson stumbled, they had been running for hours and he couldn’t push his body any further. Behind him the others fell panting.

“Rei,” Tyson broke into tears as he lay in the high grass. Just like that Rei was gone.

“Tyson, there’s gotta be a smarter way to go about this,” Max panted. However Tyson wasn’t listening as he lay in the grass, the tears falling down his face.

Suddenly Daichi stood up and started running. They all looked at each other confused but struggled to their feet and followed him.

“What’s up Daichi?” Tyson asked.

“There’s footprints on the ground and they head this way!”

“How did he figure that out?” Max muttered as Tyson shrugged his shoulders.

“You all have to remember Daichi grew up in a jungle. He has many wilderness skills,” Hiro said calmly between pants. If this kept up he was going to have a heart attack. He was in good physical shape but in no way was he made for running hours on end.

 

Rei shook his head and blinked his eyes. The first thing he noticed was that he was in a dark room and he could smell something.

He lumbered to his feet as he glanced around. All he knew was that that Kai guy had him and he was almost certain that he would never see Tyson again.

Rei gave a mournful roar at the loss of his master as a pair of eyes watched him through the dark

Rei leaned against the wall. The drug Bryan had given him was starting to wear off but it was still making him dizzy.

"You okay?" A voice asked though the dark. Rei looked up; his eyes where still unclear as a form walked closer to him. "Hey... are you okay?" It asked again. Rei's head couldn't take it. His eyes rolled in the back of his head and he fell into blackness once more.



"Shit how far is he?" Max panted as the boys followed.

"We’re here." Daichi said as they came to a stop.

"Damn!" Max yelled. They where standing in front of a very large house, which looked almost like a castle. Only one person in all of Japan had a house this big. "How did I know Kai had something to do with this?" Max muttered.

"But how do we get in and get Rei out?" Tyson asked. The boys looked at each other, clueless.

"Hey Guys!" The boys looked up to see Kenny standing in front of the door, the open door. "We could use this."



  Chapter 7

Rei moaned as he felt something wet on his neck.

"Hey... wake up." Slowly the White tiger opened his eyes and he found himself looking into a pair of golden ones.

"That name's Lee the Black Lion." He said as he bowed.

"Where am I?"  Rei said looking around, he saw that it was like cave… fit for a lion.

"In my den." Lee said as he sat down and watched Rei.

"Where’s the exit?" Rei moved from the wall but Lee growled and jumped in front of him.

"I don't think so." Lee walked towards Rei, making him back up into the wall. "I was told I was going to get a new play toy... and you’re it." Lee said.

Rei grinned. "Too bad!" Rei yelled as he used his claw like hands and slashed Lee across the eyes.

Lee roared in pain and Rei made a dash for the door with Lee hot on his tail. Rei ran down the hall with a snarling lion behind him. Lee jumped on Rei’s back and bit into his back but Rei shook Lee off and growled.

They stood there, two feline titans snarling at each other and at that moment Tala and Kai had made a turn into the hallway and were staring at them while from the other end of the hallway Tyson had appeared with Max, Daichi, Kenny, and Hiro behind him.

“Rei!” Hiro blinked as he saw the black lion and the white tiger roaring viciously as Tyson ran up to the tiger and wrapped his arms around his neck.

Lions and tigers weren’t animals you normally saw sitting around in hallways and Hiro was definitely not used to his little brother running up and wrapping his arms around a real tiger’s neck.

“Rei I was so worried,” Tyson buried his face in the white fur as the tears fell.

Rei turned his head and Hiro’s heart jumped into his throat but he couldn’t move he was too scared but he received the shock of shocks when the tiger just licked Tyson’s face and purred loudly.

Kenny was gaping at the scene unfolding before him as well as the Russians stood there. As soon as Tala’s eyes landed on Daichi he burned with hatred. Out of all the people it was Daichi that humiliated him in the last world tournament he had taken part in and he wanted the death of the monkey boy.

“Lee! Kill him!”

Lee jumped towards Daichi but Rei wasn’t about to sit there and let all his friends get destroyed.

Rei pushed Tyson back towards the others and stood in front of the group. He couldn’t let Tyson or any of the others get hurt.

“Back off,” Lee snarled but Rei stood his ground. He had to protect them all, especially Tyson. He couldn’t let Lee touch Tyson he cared for his owner too much and couldn’t imagine life without him. It was a new feeling and one he didn’t understand but either way he would protect Tyson.

“Don’t touch them Lee,” Rei growled and gave a roar loud enough that it shook the walls.

A smirk flickered over Lee’s lips as he stood there. “You really are pitiful, wasting your life on these humans.”

“Lee! I said Kill them!” Tala yelled but the huge black lion to many peoples surprise just laid down with a yawn. His tail flicked back and forth on the ground as he ignored Tala’s orders.

“Lee!”

“Don’t feel like it.” Lee aimed his eyes on Rei. “I will come to claim you little toy. Be prepared.”

Rei snorted as he turned around with a flick of his tail. He nuzzled Tyson’s arm and Tyson pet him. They slowly walked out until they heard Kai.

“You aren’t going anywhere!” They all turned to see Kai as he threw a knife. At that moment several things happened, Rei roared and charged towards Kai as Hiro jumped in the way of the knife.

"Hiro!" Tyson yelled as he ran to his big brother. Tyson kneeled down beside him just as Hiro slowly got up.

"I'm okay," Hiro said weakly. Tyson looked down and saw that the knife was in Hiro's arm.

Everyone looked up at hearing a loud yell. Rei had jumped on Kai and was snarling at him. The only thing that was keeping Kai alive was his beyblade launcher that was forced in between Rei’s fangs. Rei had a look of pure anger in his eyes as he tried to claw Kai's face off but Lee had gotten up and rammed into Rei, knocking the tiger off his master’s friend.

"Rei, come on!" Tyson yelled. Rei snarled at Kai once more before he followed Tyson and the others out of the hell house. Tala was about to go after them but Kai stopped him.

"Let him go. We'll get him later... but we have to take care of that tiger first." Kai stood up and walked away. Tala shot a glare at Lee who rolled his eyes.

"How can you let a tiger get away from you?" The red haired teen asked. Lee shook his head. "Well, too bad, you’re not getting anything to eat for a long time." Tala snapped.

Lee looked shocked. He bared his teeth at Tala and walked to him but Tala pulled out a gun and aimed it at Lee's head. "I saved you from hell and I can send you back," Lee stopped and backed down. "Good boy. Now come on!" Tala walked down the hall with Lee by his side.

( Hiro's Pov)

"There you go!" Kenny said as he wrapped my arm in a Bandage.

"Thanks Kenny," I said rubbing his head. The boy nodded and stood up. We were all back at Grandpa's house. Today had really wiped us all out. "Sorry." I said to Tyson in a whisper. I turned to my left and saw him hugging the white tiger. The tiger had his paws around him as if he were hugging him. "Tyson where did you get a tiger?" I asked. This was just too strange. "Where’s Rei?"

"This is Rei." Tyson said and then he told me about a man called Count D and the rules.

"But does this mean you broke a rule?" Daichi asked after Tyson had finished.

"Yeah, D said you can't let Rei out without his necklace in the day time." Max said as he hugged Daichi closely.

"I had no choice!" Tyson said as he hugged Rei. I shock my head and stood up.

"Look I'm going to get something to eat anyone coming?" I asked. Daichi and Max raised their hands and we walked out leaving Rei and Tyson behind.

( Out of Hiro's Pov)

"I'm sorry," Tyson said.

Rei smiled. "You said that already and it's okay," Rei said. "You’re my master and it's my job to look after you!" With that Rei licked Tyson face but Tyson pulled away. "What is it?" Rei asked as he looked curiously at Tyson. Tyson didn't say anything as he looked at Rei. Tyson's heart was beating so hard he couldn't think right when he kissed Rei on the lips.

“Whore!” Kai turned around and bitch slapped Tyson in the face with the gun. For some reason Kai had forgotten about Rei and was facing Tyson. “You know I really did love you,” Kai sneered. Just then Rei jumped on Kai’s back and knocked Kai down.
 
Kai knocked Rei off his back and stood up bit Rei turned around and faced Kai. Kai yelled in pain but Rei held on deep as the blood ran down his mouth.
 
Rei let go when he felt his prey’s body go limp. Rei let go and Kai’s body fell with a tumble. His eyes were big and were staring at Tyson.
 
“Rei?” Tyson stood for a minute at his spot and then walked over to the panting tiger. Tyson put his hand on Rei shoulder and Rei turned around fast and clawed Tyson’s cheek.
 
Tyson clutched his cheek and stared at Rei in shock. What was wrong with him? He had never acted like this. Tyson looked back at Rei, and found that he saw a tiger and not the Rei he made love to.(1) Rei blinked and looked at Tyson’s face.  What had he done?!
 
 “Rei, please,” Tyson moved to hug Rei but the tiger moved back away from Tyson. “Rei…”
 
But the tiger looked up at Tyson with tears in his eyes and ran out of the room.
 
“Rei!” Tyson yelled as he ran after him but once he got outside of Kai’s house Rei was long gone.
 
“Rei!” 
 
 

Rei stumbled blindly in misery through the streets, so blind that he didn’t see the suited men with the dart gun until it was too late for him.
