Students develop a conceptual framework for biology that emphasizes understanding science as a process. Course topics and themes are outlined according to a six week grading period.  The topics follow the course description as outlined by collegeboard.com.  AP Biology Labs are specified within the six weeks.
Students spend a minimum of 25% of the instructional time engaged in hands-on laboratory work.  As part of the laboratory requirement, all twelve required AP Biology labs are completed. Additionally, other enrichment labs are included in the course.  A formal lab report is required for all twelve AP Biology labs.
