Stories of Navigation

The client was an old timer navigator. The remodeling process of his house
started with his stories of navigation: faraway lands, blue seas, warm sunsets,
old maps and diaries, canvas sails, navigation instruments...White pearls and
coral banks...Exotic spices and food...Solitude, peace and tranquillity.

So I chose a nautical look for him. A few original pieces of furniture
derived from old ships were used in some rooms. The walls were painted
in an iridescent blue, interposed with old navigation maps. The undulating
designs in the weaving of the fabrics carry the feeling of ocean waves.

Door knobs, furniture handles and hinges, all water taps in kitchen and baths,
lamps and stair rails were made of brass to resemble the brasses on the ship.
The floor was re-done in marble throughout the client's home.
