Transport and Maps
There is no quick way to get to Pembrokeshire. It is therefore strongly recommended that you do not attempt to travel on the day of the wedding!
Directions, Maps
and
information for travelling by
Car, Air and
Train are below.
Directions
Directions to the Cottage (coming from Carew): Once in Cresswell Quay, drive down the hill onto the quay. The driveway for the house is the first driveway on the right after the pub and the public
lavatories (also on the right) (the gateway is overgrown but will be marked with
a sign for the wedding). Please park at the bottom of the drive and walk
up.
For a routeplanner we
recommend the AA
website - please type in the following postcode SA68 0TE to get correct
destination details.
Directions to Lawrenny for St
Caradog's Church from Cresswell Quay: Once in Cresswell Quay, head out
of the village keeping the river to your left. Following a small bridge, just
before the road goes uphill, take a turning on the left up a steep hill.
Continue straight for about 5-10 minutes until you get to a crossroads. Take the
left turn signposted to Lawrenny. Continue straight for several minutes until
you come to the village. Drive into the centre of the village and ahead you will
see the church. Please park on the street nearby rather than in the Church
courtyard.

Car
Travel time from central London is 4 hours, and 3.5 or less from Heathrow or West London, if you drive at 80mph. The police don't tend to stop you if you stay under 90 mph.
Note: you should, however, slow to within the speed limit in the following sections of road where you see the 'camera' sign: Port Talbot Flyover on the M4 Pont Abraham to Carmarthen on the
A48 Carmarthen to St Clears on the A40
Very Important: please do
not attempt to drive to Pembrokeshire on the day of the wedding. In high-holiday season the traffic jams are usually horrific. You will be very unlikely to arrive in time.
Air
Pembrokeshire is not served by any commercial jets. However, you can fly a private plane or helicopter to Haverfordwest airport
(www.azworldairports.com). Alternatively, you can fly to Swansea, Cardiff or Bristol which are 1.5, 2, 2.5 hours away by car respectively. Commercial airlines serving these airports include BMI Baby and
Air Wales (www.airwales.com). Flight routes include Brussels, Amsterdam, London City Airport, a variety of domestic UK locations, Dublin, Munich and sometimes Paris. You may also find it possible to fly from popular European tourist destinations via charter flights. Car hire is available on arrival.
Train
Train travel to Pembrokeshire is possible - but you will find life extremely difficult without access to a car the other end - or a car of another guest. There is no reliable car rental service in the surrounding area. There are a number of taxi companies but we wouldn't recommend full reliance on these. We are, however, hoping to provide a taxi service free of charge for everyone on the day of the wedding, to and from your accomodation.
Train journeys take 4.5-5 hours from Paddington Station in Central London. To book and check timetables we recommend
www.qjump.com
Important note: most local stops in Pembrokeshire are
request stops - which means you must tell the train man you want to get off.
Local stations (depending on where you are staying) are: Kilgetty Tenby Manorbier Pembroke
