I know very little about the Trevino history, but I did learn a bit of family lore from my father Roman. My research on the Treviños has led me to Julian Treviño, my great-great grandfather who lived in Guerrero, Tamaulipas in the early part of the 19th Century.

Dad was born in Guerrero in 1901. He knew little about his father since Grandad died when Dad was about two years old, but he had some recollection from his mother that Grandfather Roman was a merchant--I suppose that could mean anything from grocery store owner to cantinero. Anyway, Grandma Carmen cared for her three children alone in Guerrero until about 1910. At that time, many families fled Mexico due to the dangerous climate of the Mexican Revolution.

Grandma Carmen eventually settled in Pearsall, Texas, where her three children: Rafael, Chata, and Roman all married and raised children of their own.

The following outline begins with Julian and traces his descendents down to my immediate family. Please note that after Generation 5 I have only included those descendents leading to my immediate family.
