Sardinia is the second largest island in the Mediterranean Sea. The island, a small natural paradise, contains numerous extraordinary tourist areas and is particularly famous for its beaches and crystal clear multicolour sea, but is also rich in other interesting places, such as some charming sea towns and archeological ruins.
The resort of Villasimius, in the south-eastern coastline, is a very well-known destination for tourists in the summer time. It has a wide choice of restaurants, pizzerias, trendy bars, boutiques, local craft and wine shops. The beaches get also busy with people in the night, with the characteristic kiosks, where you'll be able to enjoy a drink and a quick meal, having fun with karaoke or live music under a starry sky.
Main activities are typically water based like water skiing, snorkelling, scuba diving. Horse riding and golf, quad and jeep excursions also available. You will also be able to go on a boat trip to the islands of Serpentara and Capo Carbonara, with lunch on board.
The coastline is dominated by long white sandy beaches and small bays. Here you can visit some of the most beutiful beaches of the Mediterranean sea and you can enjoy breathtaking views of uncontaminated nature.
Among the many beaches, as you can see in the map, are: Spiaggia di Simius, porto Giunco, Timiama, Campolongu, Cala Pira, Cala Caterina and Spiaggia del riso, just to mention a few. You'll find long white sandy shorelines as well as small caves and bays.
Not far from the beaches, just in front of Villasimius, you can view two little islands: L’isola dei Cavoli, with its lighthouse and l'isola di Serpentara, where there is a Spanish tower dedicated to San Luigi.
The area that goes from Serpentara to Capo Boi is now part of the protected marine area.
We highly reccomend a boat tour on Dante's Fiore di Maggio to visit this enchanting marine park, the coastline and admire the little islands, with lunch on board.
