Trainwreck Bio: The sound of roots music colliding with rock 'n roll to thrilling effect. Comprising former members of Basic English and Local Heroes, Trainwreck's Cameron residency is a popular one. A much-anticipated first album is on its way.
TRAINWRECK: We took a break from jazz via these local alt-country rockers at the Cadillac Lounge. Their recent independent CD, Big Smoke Saloon, showcases strong songwriting, singing and playing, and the band shines in performance. Their set list confirmed their good taste, with covers ranging from JOHNNY CASH to FRED EAGLESMITH and WHISKEYTOWN, while group originals like "Evangeline" lost nothing in comparison. Singer TIM ARMOUR and guitarist JOHN DAVIS were in the much-missed BASIC ENGLISH, so it's good to see their talents in a happy home.

With 2000 drawing to a close, we thought it appropriate to look back on the year of MapleMusic's birth. We began by asking a few artists for their Top Five Musical Moments.
Alun Piggins (Toronto Musician): TRAINWRECK - Clintons. A bunch of guys who used to be in Basic English. They blasted (and lightly strummed) their way through a bunch of originals and the occasional tasteful cover. If the world was fair they'd be a household name.
