Stasheff blends science fiction and fantasy together in a wonderful
tapestry for the Warlock Series, combining the best of the middle ages with a far flung future on
other planets. I have been reading his books since shortly after high
school and continue to buy each new title as it appears.
The Wizard series provides lots of fun in an alternate time line based in the middle ages. Althoguh science sort of works, imagine poetry being the means to control magic. Lots of adventures, villains and magic, along with poetry. If you are a classics buff, you will enjoy this series. | ||

Mr. Anthony has been entertaining young adults with his Xanth series for many years. I was introduced to
the series in junior high and kept up with it until I hit my mid- twenties. I know a lot of adults who enjoy the
series even now. However, I do recommend it for young adult readers. Mr. Anthony has
developed a wonderful fantasy land that looks an awful lot like his native Florida. One of the best things
about this series is his humor and the great puns sprinkled liberally throughout. Introduce your young
adolescent to this series and you may not get them out of the books until they have read every one!
Alternatively, Get them hoooked on Anthony's Kelvin of Rud Action / Adventure series or a mixture of Fantasy and Science Fiction in his Phase Adept Series. | |||||||||
