Hello!
Welcome to Summer '05 (Aug 11) and some new revisions.

Bob in a tux Below is a picture in me in a tux while being best man at the wedding of Marty & Karen Smith. Click menu at left for more pictures.

Surgery
I had hernia surgery in early May and recouped for 4 weeks, not doing much more then reading (nothing heavy of course), computering and TV. I am all well now and getting back into old routine. (No timber lifting though!)

The Garden
While recouping, Chris kept the lawn mowed and got out the weed whacker and had some fun. (See the pictures!)

The weeds grew quite abundantly during that time. Made the gardens look somewhat lush with all the moisture we have been having. I got caught up with pulling them up this past week and a half and though there are some bare spots revealed real plants will fill in.

See May Garden Pics or June Garden Pics

Tried beer for slug bait and it hasn't worked so far. Do they not like Rainier? The slugs got to our first plantings of squash, but I got some stronger bait for the second time around.

Big Project
The big project for the summer is to paint the decks and steps in the latter part of July and early August. Should be loads of jolly-good-fun!! Any volunteers?

The Doctor told me that I should start an exercise program.
Not wanting to harm this old body, I've devised the following
Weekly Workout

Monday
   > Beat around the bush
   > Jump to conclusions
   > Climb the walls
   > Wade through the
       morning paper

Tuesday
   > Drag my heels
   > Push my luck
   > Make mountains out
      of mole hills
   > Hit the nail on the head

Wednesday
   > Bend over backwards
   > Jump on the Band Wagon
   > Run around in circles
> Surf the web

Thursday
   > Advise the President on
      how to run the country
   > Toot my own horn
   > Pull out all the stops
   > Add fuel to the fire

Friday
   > Open a can of worms
   > Put my foot in my mouth
   > Start the ball rolling
   > Go over the edge

Saturday
   > Pick up the pieces
Sunday
   > Kneel in prayer
   > Bow my head in
      thanksgiving
   > Uplift my hands in praise
   > Hug someone and
      encourage them.

Whew!  What a workout!
