NETIQUETTE

There is a right and a wrong way to behave in chat rooms. Below is a list of things you should concider when you are typing away in a chat room.

SHOUTING: WHAT IS SHOUTING? ACTUALLY WE AREN'T SURE WHAT SHOUTING IN CHAT IS... I MEAN... HOW CAN YOU SHOUT WHEN YOU DON'T REALLY HEAR ANYTHING WHEN YOU ARE TYPING AWAY? I'M NOT EVEN SURE WHY TOXY PUT ME UP TO MENTIONING "SHOUTING." OH WELL. NEXT TOPIC.

PROFANITY: This I just don't comprehend. I'm not going to give you examples of how to profane like I showed you how to shout, because profanity only belongs in the mouths (and type) of intelligent people. If you think you are smart enough to just say F'in this and F'in that in chat, then I have some news for you: you aren't.

Intelligent people know when to express themselves with force (not the Jedi kind) and it is never in a personal way. Telling someone that they are "the shit" is okay, telling people to "eat shit" is not. Telling someone that they "kick ass" is okay, telling them to "kiss your ass" is not. I'm sure that you understand the difference. If not, just don't profane at all. You can't lose there.

RIDICULE: There is a fine art to making fun of someone that infringes on any of the previously mentioned "breaches of Netiquette". You have to be calm, calculating, and very NON-OFFENSIVE in nature. You can't just say people are stupid and expect an acceptable response. Those that would be ridiculed will have to remain calm to fight back, as it IS a war of words. Once they delve into profanity or shouting, you have won the war. Telling him/her that is probably the best part of winning.
