Above, the Time Machine in full swing, it takes a little time to get used to
the controls, don't forget George, "You have all the time in the world".
And never under any circumstances should you stop to suddenly, the
machine will spin round and round making you terribly dizzy and sick.

This is a great view from the top of the machine, one thing that makes it
attractive is the beautiful symmetry, people unconsciously find symmetrical
things more appealing..

Its of interest to note that the machines dish was powered by a simple
BBQ spit motor, the only thing that the console controlled was its blinking
lights, whereas the dish movement was operated off stage by a stage
hand, most people believe that the console did it all..

Above, a rare still showing the Time Machine in George's back yard,
he then would have dragged the machine back into his workshop so
he could return to the same spot in front of the sphinx..

Above, some rare images of the Time Machine before its auction in 1970..

In 1970 MGM sold off a whole bunch of movie props including the
original Time Machine, it sold for $10,000 dollars to an entrepreneur
who took the machine across country to be display in fairs and such,
then some time in the mid 70's it completely disappeared to the world..

But fortunately in 1979 the Time Machine was discovered in a thrift shop!..

Above, some rare images of the new console, before its auction in 1970..

The original Console had been cut off during the post production of the
film to create inserts for the scenes which show the years counting by on
the display. The original console was lost to the world and with only one
day to build a replacement console the prop builder created this one
(Shown Above) made with pie tins and Christmas lights..

Most of these Auction Photographs were taken by Don Coleman
