I thought I would never climb Mt. Kinabalu again because of the fact that my level of
fitness is far from desirable. Even the thought of climbing this beautiful mountain
immediately brought mental pictures of pain, anguish and muscle cramps!
I "jumped" on the idea of this PROJECT because it gave me an excuse to climb
this mountain and give it something back in return. The spin off from this project is that
I have actually started exercising, semi-religiously, again. So…here’s hoping I
won’t be having muscle cramps!!

Assistant Project Manager |
Our great Kinabalu, is called the Mountain of Spirits. She has a rich
spiritual and cultural identity, with many ancient folklores and history. She is older
than humanity. Those who pollute and destroy Kinabalu are desecrating this Spirit Mountain
like how one desecrates a monument, a gravestone. We never conquer this mountain, but just
to pay homage each time we ascend, and be grateful for a safe passage.... I feel we should
incorporate this spirit and perhaps, this will instead conquer our human arrogance and
humble our tendency to disrespect mother nature.
T.I.C.K. is conceived in this very spirit. To counteract the litterbugs!
I hope this project can inspire other individuals to make a stand, and take the
initiatives to protect
our heritage.
To my friends in T.I.C.K., May the strength of three be in your journey!

Why I'm doing this? Well, I think it is a
great idea, it's noble and it gets my butt off the chair. I'm dedicating my effort to

I have hyperactivity disorder, the doctor
ordered that I should climb the mountain and pick up rubbish.. best cure
ever....hey just kidding.
Seriously, I love outdoor activities and nature, therefore when I heard about this
project, I thought it is superb! With a little more effort, I can enjoy my
hobby whilst doing my part to conserve our environment. It is also a joy
knowing and working with this group of like-minded friends who "TICK"
well. |

" John F. Kennedy said ' Ask not what
your country can do for you but what you can do for your country' . To the call, I answer
that I sacrifice my time and effort so that others may enjoy what GOD hath given to us to
awe at and acknowledge of HIS greatness. The cycle of Life completes itself if each of us
sacrifices ourselves for one another." |
