ROLE-PLAY HELP
Use Characters -
Using different characters and interacting with different superstars and
backstage people, you can make the role-play seem more realistic. Anyone can
write a role-play about coming to the ring and talking, but the real main event
superstars are those people who can write about any situation and make the
role-play entertaining.
Be
Funny-
Everyone enjoys a good laugh when reading a role-play, although try not to be
too unkind to your opponent. Yes, do try and make the reader laugh, but not at
the expense of another e-feder. Try and remember that there are people behind
the characters and they may be offended by some of the things you say. Make
people laugh, but don't offend them.
Keep Storylines -
If you do get injured or have an accident at a show then do remember to use this
in your role-plays. There is no point coming out looking all healthy like
nothing happened, when the night before you just fell off a ladder and went
through two tables. Just try and read all the results and tie your role-play
into what's going on.
Focus -
There is no point in role-playing about fighting someone else when you have a
match against someone at the next show. Yes, do try and bring in other
superstars, but concentrate on your upcoming match and leave other events for
another role-play.
Take your Time -
Between each show there is a week to role-play, so there is no point in doing
three rushed role-plays, that are not funny, not long and include no real
entertainment to the reader. I have found the best way to do a role-play is to
take your time over it. Spend the week doing one long role-play rather than
three short ones. Write your role-play in notepad and save it on your computer,
so you can work on it any time you are free, and you don't have to be online.
Believe me, you are more likely to win your match if you spend your time doing
one long one, rather than three short ones.
Extra Things -
Now there is a deadline to every show, and we expect you to keep to it. I will
be posting the deadline at 7.30pm (UK Time) on the Sunday before the event. Any
role-play done after this point will not count, so there is no point in posting
it unless you speak to me or Rage. There is no maximum amount you can write in
your role-plays, but there is a minimum, I expect at least 20 lines of writing.
Now that really isn't that much to ask for, seeing as it takes me a very long
time to write the results every week, the least you can do is spend 30 minutes
writing a good role-play.
Use HTML -
HTML is an important part to the role-play, and although many people see it as
just "showing off", I will expect it to be used. It shows me that a little time
and effort was put into writing this role-play and it wasn't just wrote at the
last minute in order to prevent you from being fired. Now I know everyone would
rather read something with a bit of colour, rather than a whole page of white
writing, and some pictures add more entertainment value. Remember, it is about
grabbing my attention and making me want to read your role-play. It is quality
over quantity.
