A Mother's Gift
By PommyStarChild
Chapter One: Left Out

Mother's Day was just around the corner.  Everyone was thrilled.  Excluding Sukura, that is.

Her mother had died when she was about 3 years old, and she had not participated in any fun when it came to May 13.

Everyone else had a mom.

Even those who didn't still had grandmothers and aunts.

Sukura had no aunts that she knew of, and grandmothers were quite out of the picture.

Even an older sister would be a good substitute.

But did Sukura have an older sister?

No.

All she had was tall Tori.

(Hey, that's his new nickname! Tall Tori! *laughs while friends stare at her like she's mentally retarded. *)

So while all the other kids got presents and cards for their moms, Sukura just acted the same way she did every day, only gloomier.

While Madison (a.k.a. Tomoyo for you Japanese) collected all of her sketches for Sukura's costumes to present to her mom, Sukura did her homework.

While Syaoran (I'm gonna call him that from now on, Li is a suffix for heaven's sake. A SUFFIX!) made a good luck charm for his mom and plotted over the phone with his sisters the perfect Mother's Day surprise, Sukura went grocery shopping.

I think that you've gotten the picture by now.
