I served in the US Army from 1990-1993.  I was an intelligence analyst, but also completed paratrooper training.  My active duty tours included the Technical Counterintelligence Battalion of the 902nd Military Intelligence Group (Ft. Meade, MD) and the 1st Battalion/10th Special Forces Group (Panzer Kaserne, Germany).  I participated in several operations, most notably Provide Promise II (the CSAR operation for Bosnia).

After discharge, I enlisted in the PA Army National Guard.  Initially, I belonged to the a leg infantry battalion.  With the budget cuts came a new mission.  The unit was redesignated the 1/213th Air Defense Battalion.  I cross-trained as a Stinger missile crewman.

While in college, I switched services and joined the PA Air National Guard (continuing as an intel analyst).  My current unit is the 171st Air Refueling Wing.  The Intel shop has been recognized two years in a row (1999-2000) as the best National Guard Intel Shop in the Air Mobility Command.  I've deployed in support of various operations, most notably Coronet Oak and Allied Force (Kosovo).
