Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can you help me get into acting?
A: The site was made to answer the question "How do I get into acting?", so please don't ask me that. But, if you have a specific question about the industry, just e-mail me (my name is Leslie) at vinnie_oatmeal@hotmail.com and I'd be happy to do what I can to help you. Please keep in mind that I am now a full-time graduate student, so it may take me a while to respond to you but I will do my best to get back to you as soon as I can.

Q: How do you make a resume?
A: I've created a section to answer this question, so head over to Resumes.

Q: Who's your manager and how did you get him?
A: I'm no longer with him, but my manager was Bill Boyle of Los Angeles and I ended up with him just by plain luck. I was in a Talent Convention in Edmonton, Alberta and after I'd performed, he asked me about being represented by him. I was just in the right place at the right time.

Q: Can you tell your manager/agent about me?
A: Not really. Managers and agents have a very specific idea of what they want and will decide for themselves. Sorry, guys. If you want an agent, the best thing to do is send your picture and resume out and follow up with phone calls. Check out the Agents & Managers section for more info.

Q: Is it better to have an agent or a manager?
A: I added the answer to this question to the Agents & Managers section.

Q: Do you know of any agents/classes in my area?
A: Your best bet is to take a look in your phone book under "Talent Agents" or "Theatrical Agents". If you live in the states, you can get information about reputable agents in your area from www.sag.com. For Canada, check out www.actra.com

Q: Where are you from?
A: I'm from just outside of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, but I currently live in Vancouver, BC.

Q: What acting have you done?
A: I have experience in nearly all aspects of performing including film, TV, radio, theatre, and music. You can check out my about me page or my imdb.com entry for more info on my career.

Q: Where do you get all your information?
A: The information on this site comes from a combination of personal experience, books, and talking to other people in the industry.
