Glenn Lehr is a retired dentist.
He served as a pilot in the USAF from 1955-1964,and then attended
the University of Michigan Dental School, where he graduated in 1968.
Private practice of dentistry followed until 1982, when he founded
and served as President of American Dental Health, a large chain of dental offices.

In 1992, he took a trip to Costa Rica, where he caught "orchid fever."
He started growing orchids in 1993, and purchased a house in Costa Rica.
In 1996, a trip to Ecuador with friends further piqued his interest in orchids.
Many trips to Ecuador, and the construction of a small orchid nursery there followed.
Unfortunately, this nursery is now under volcanic ash!
He and his wife, Maria, operate New World Orchids and grow orchids in both Ecuador and Costa Rica.
They specialize in Phragmipediums, Pleurothallids, and Maxillarias.

Glenn was President of the Ann Arbor Orchid Society in 1999.
