Typical Day at an Event
 
25th Ohio Volunteer Infantry call schedule.
This schedule is taken from a typical day during a reenacting event.
Each event is different and has a different time line. However, this will
give you an idea of what is in store for you if you come and join us.
The following time line changes at each event we attend and this one is
meant only as an example. If you are interested in the time line of a

7:00A.M. The Reveille |
This call is used to awaken the men. |
7:30 A.M. Assembly on Company Streets |
After the Drum and Fife Corps finish their reveille sequence roughly 10 to 15 minutes the morning role call is taken. |
Breakfast Call (Peas Upon a Trencher) | Sounded shortly after morning role call or when breakfast is prepared. When on campaign troops would break into their mess groups and begin to cook their meals. |
Sick Call | Call for the sick to assemble on company streets. |
Fatigue Call | This call signals men to assemble for various work details. |
Assembly of the Guard | This call is to assemble soldiers for Guard Mount. |
Orders for Orderly Sergeants OR First Sergeants Call | Sounded sometime after morning role call to signal 1stSgts to submit their morning reports to the Adjutant. |
8:30 A.M. First Call (Assembly of the buglers or Attention at out of State events) |
Used to alert troops of upcoming activity (ie...drill, colors, battle, etc) in about 30 minutes. |
8:45 A.M. Second Call (Assembly) |
This call is used to assemble troops in the company street with traps and weapons. |
9:00 A.M. To the Color |
At this time, Officers move ther companies to the Color Line for Parade |
9:00 A.M. To the Colors |
Used to honor the national colors. |
9:15 A.M. Drill Call |
This call is used to summon troops for battalion or brigade drill.

10:30 A.M. Recall (from sutlers,fatigue detail, etc) |
Dismissed from morning drill or Fatigue duties. |
11:00 A.M. Ladies Tea |
Ladies from camp and the public gather to enjoy some socializing and learning about the Civil War with classes about dress, etiquette, hair styles, etc. while enjoying tea and snacks. |
11:30 A.M. Dinner Call (Roast Beef) |
Signal for afternoon and evening meal |
12:30 P.M. First Call (Assembly of the buglers/Attention) |
Used to alert troops of upcoming activity (ie...drill, colors, battle, etc) in about 30 minutes. |
12:45 P.M. Second Call (Assembly) |
This call is used to assemble troops in traps with weapons to the company street. |
1:00 P.M . Assembly |
At this time, assemble for rifle inspection and prepare for battle. |
2:00P.M. Battle |

Church Call | This is used to call a truce between sides. |
Return to camp | Dismissed to camp |
Sick Call | Call for the sick or injured to assemble on company streets or come to the Hospital Tent. |
5:00 P.M. Supper (dinner) |
Is the same call as Dinner (lunch). |
7:00 P.M. Suwaree (Dance) |
Reenactors are invited to join in some fun with an old fashioned dance |
10:00 P.M. Extinguish Lights |
Time to keep the noise down | 12:00 P.M. Taps |
