No one knows for sure what the
original boots were, and even then they were most certainly modified from
their original look. These are my boots. No, I didn't make them. I found someone that actually commissioned a shoemaker to make these. Although they are close, they are not exactly the same as what Fett wore in the movies...but they are close enough for me! |
| I did make the spikes and toe
plates to go on these shoes. The plates were made from 1/8" thick
aluminum sheet, cut to fit, and pop riveted into the sole. The spikes were created on a drill press. That's right, no lathe was involved. I simply took 3/8" aluminum rod, cut about 2 1/2" off, slipped it into the chuck, and used files to "lathe" the proper shape. They are held on with JB Weld. Some people actually thread screws into them from the backside, but I don't have all the proper tooling to do this. |
