On Being a Master

What is a Master?
This is an interesting Question. I
think to answer this, it is easier to first take a look
at what a Master is not. A Master is not just some guy
that can type in caps, nor someone who runs around waving
his Honour as a battle flag. He is not one that must make
public displays of His power to feel secure, nor belittle
others to feel good. Neither should He continually be
forcing His will upon others.
To Me being a Master is being
confident in My manhood, secure in My feelings of self
worth and assured of My place in the grand scheme of
things.
An overt display of power, while
sometimes necessary, is not a preferred stance, for He
that has to continually tell others of His Strength makes
Me wonder how much of that is assuring Himself.
To Me a simple glance or disapproving
look is all that is needed; for if a Master Has done His
job well then His sub or slave will react, and
interestingly enough so will others.
In regard to Online Gor: to be secure
in Your Honour, to be able to withstand a barb or an even
an insult at times, to treat others how You would wish to
be treated.
Strength comes from within. A Master
must be strong to lend his strength to those he cares
for, to protect with out smothering, to help grow.
A Master Must be self assured, not
plagued with nagging doubts about whether this is the
right course of action, though be able to admit,
understand and adjust if He has made a mistake.
When a Master looks at a little one he
does not just see a slave; He sees possibilities.
When a Master sees a difficult
situation He does not see a problem; He sees a challenge.
Master must be confident in His
abilities though never unwilling to learn, for if You
ever get to the point where You think that You know it
all,it is time to quit.
Unfortunately, during My time Online I
have seen many Masters that "just don't get it". They
swagger and pose, berate a little one to the point of
tears, and to tell the truth, reminding me of nothing
more than a little Bantam rooster. I once saw a Master
cuff a girl to the ground because she had the audacity to
climb on top of him during sex. He cursed and swore that
no slave was going to "fuck" Him! Well needless to say
she left and He didn't get laid.
I have heard it said that We are only
Masters because the little ones let Us. There is a lot of
truth in this, though a True Master has no problem in
finding little ones, actually they usually find Him.
Being a Master is not ALL about
dominating another, in fact to Me that is only a small
though important part of it. A Master is at times a
father, a brother, a lover and a friend. All of this
makes up a Master and lacking any part makes You
incomplete; a fact the little ones seem to spot quite
easily.
In conclusion let Me say this, to be a
Master one must master themselves first.

Being Gorean is not about domination
nor submission. A true Master does not need to dominate,
He simply is in charge, it is His nature, His assurance
of His place in the worldly order. That recognisance by
others simply happens. A slave is one that yearns to
please, and when confronted by a Master is simply swept
away.
Being a Gorean is a state of mind, not
a physical thing. As to preying on an unknowing society,
that is illegal * grin* though people of like mind sets
tend to find each other and gather. Not all women are
slaves and as such should not be treated that way. Again
this is what being Gorean means; recognizing Your place
and that of those around You. In a rt gathering I can
guarantee with in a few minutes I know who is a Master,
who is a wanna be, and which females are slave and which
are not.

I was fortunate enough to be given
these notes by someone who was close to Kurzon, and I
truely hope Kurzon does not object to me using his words
in thier unabridged entirety. Here was/is a Man Who
truely understands the concept of the Gorean Man. Not the
predatory itinerant, that is so common in Online Gor, nor
the inefectual rt whimp out for a quick online ego trip,
who gets his jollies running round gor pretending to Be a
Man and collaring every female he can so he can
dominate,abuse and terrorise her for a few minutes or
hours then either dump her or kill her. She as a "good
gorean " is of course now left with the choice of gaming
and starting over. Which as W/we A/all know is a
reprehensible action , or as is often the case to "play
on " only now the Proud FW, FC...is reduced to slavery,
her online life and that of her Loved ones online
destroyed. And for what reason...*she looked at a FM in a
Superior Manner* *She spoke when a FM was speaking* *She
looked at an FM and smiled* and the myriad of other lame
excuses used to claim a collar is just. These "Men" make
Me sick, they destroy Gor.
Let Us be clear on what Honour is, it
is a set of self imposed morals by which a Man judges His
own worth. There is a misconception that codes of Honour
are something that are set in stone. That is not so,
codes give guidance. But one principal guidance of every
society where honour is valued, has always been the
protection of the weaker members by the Stronger members.
In this Gor is no different to any Warrior society ever
recorded.
Therefore, All Men of AxeHolme will on
pain of dishonour protect Our Women and slaves against
All Enemies/Strangers
No Man of this Holme shall collar a
Woman of the Holme, save the Jarl himself and then only
after very careful consideration.

others that need fear our steel
