All Magic: Wanna learn some neat magic tricks? Then, you've come to the perfect guide to initiate you into everything from card illusions to stage magic. It's just the site for aspiring illusionists who've always wanted to make things appear and disappear but never found anyone willing to show them how. The home page is bright and superbly set up, with weekly updated tricks in the 'This Week' section and plenty more in 'Diversions', 'More Card Magic', 'More Stage Magic' and 'More Close-Up Magic'. The instructions are clear and crisp, and if you have a problem making sense of the tips offered on the pages devoted to such things as 'Silk Vanishing: Stage Sleights', 'Color Transposition:Red & Black' and 'Mental Pressure: Easy Card Work', chances are you're not cut out to be a magician. But if you insist on persisting, then you should consult resident expert Mr Magic to find out why you can't pull off the tricks.

Ancestry.com: This site that helps people trace their family roots is probably the biggest databank of ancestry on the Web. The home page is structured to ease navigation and neatly sums up all the resource material available in the countless pages. There are "over 600 million names" in the database, with more than 71 million "pedigree files" submitted by visitors from outside the US in the 'Ancestry World Tree' section. There's a simple online form that offers searches of varying levels of accuracy. The main page is regularly updated with special features on topics related to online family history. And you can sign up for daily or weekly e-mail updates and browse "the best collection of family history" in 'The Ancestry Library'.

Bikini.com: I can guess what you're thinking. Lots of skimpily-clad babes and blokes... perfect for the obsessive online ogler, right? Well, not quite. And you're definitely not going to get any celebrity nude pictures of questionable origin here. In fact, this is quite a cool and fun site -- that's reflected in the snazzy design and effective but low-memory animations on the main page -- where you can not only see beautiful people in an endless array of swimwear but also choose 'bikinigrams' to send to friends. There's a droplist of channels that takes you to such great pages as 'Supermodels', 'Bikinivision' and 'Slideshows'. And if you're into beach sports, there's plenty to check out in the 'Sports' pages which are filled with action stories and pro tips. The 'Viewer Poll', that runs along the lines of 'Which of these two superstars would you rather see in a bikini? Briney Spears or Anna Kournikova?', is also a neat frivolous treat.

Dumb Laws: It's amazing the kind mischief law-makers can get up to when they want to control people, especially from acting too impulsively or having too much fun. And this is the site to visit if you want to discover some of the world's strangest laws. Like, it's illegal to remove bandages in public in Canada or when a prisoner breaks out of jail in Denmark, he's not charged for escaping when he's recaptured. There's also the New York State law that makes it illegal to throw a ball at somebody's head for fun. You can spend hours here looking through all the "dumb laws" both in the US and other countries, though for this region, only Thailand and Singapore make the grade. Does that mean Malaysian laws are not so dumb? Well, you can answer that for yourself, or enter one of the discussion boards at the site and offer your opinion on the matter. Other useful links include 'Cartoons', 'Random Law Machine' and 'Books about Laws'.

Elections Around the World: Those with an interest in world politics and the electoral process will find much to feed on at this excellent site. When the main page loads, you get a pop-up window that provides the latest results in countries where elections have recently been held or are currently being held. And on the home page, you can view results alphabetically or through a search button. You can also search on a world map for a particular country and retrieve all the currently available election data. The links to 'Political Resources', 'Parties Around the World', 'Parliaments Around the World' and other political sites let you get deeper into things if you want more information.
