Materials (for a 62 Qt cage)*

two large sterilite containers (Wal-Mart - $7)
one 4" 1ft pvc pipe (Home Depot - $1)
two 90 degree 4" pvc pipes (Home Depot - $5.30)
one washcloth (used from home - free)
one handsaw (Hardware store - prices vary)
chicken wire for windows (Hardware store, prices vary)
exacto knife or small drill (Hardware store - prices vary)
twist ties

Before you Build

1. Sterilize pvc pipes and sterilite containers or wash throughly with anti-bacterial soap
2. Make sure the washcloth is clean and dry.

Steps

1.  Stack the two sterilite containers and place the assembled pvc pipe on the side to determind where the holes should be cut.
2. Draw an outline of the pvc pipe ends with a permanent marker.
3. Draw two rectangles on two sides of each container (these will be transformed into windows which allow for proper ventillation).
3. Using the handsaw, cut out the circles and the rectangles.
4.  Place the chicken wire over rectangles, drill holes (or use exacto knife) to attach checken wire with twist ties.  Assemble windows.
5. Disassemble pvc pipes and place washcloth on bottom of the 1' pipe.  (Make sure ends of the washcloth stick out of either side of the pipe). Attach both 90 degree pipes, catching the cloth (this is so the hedgie has something to help him get up the pipe for the second floor).
6.  Decorate the bottom floor of the condo (this is where I put my hedgie's washcloth and
7. Leave one flap of the sterilie container open (the one closest to the pvc pipe).  Stack the containers and put the pvc pipes in the holes. (If you feel your hedge may push the piping out, attach it with twist ties or cable wire as with the chicken wire).
7.  Decorate the top floor of the condo (this is where I put the food, water, wheel and toys..  Leave both flaps open for ventillation.
8. Voila!  You are finished building the Quill Condo!  Congratulations!

*increase lengths with larger cages.  Depending on how large you wish to make windows depends on how much chicken wire you must purchase.
