Course Load
A full time student attends four hours Monday through Friday and is scheduled
for a course load of five classes in each semester. A student may take
fewer or more classes as determined by total credits earned at the outset
of enrollment and the number of remaining credits required to receive a
high school diploma. Each semester course represents one half credit.
College Courses for High School Credit
Subject to approval by the principal, students may be granted high school
course credit for course work they take at a community college.
Correspondence Courses
A student may, with prior approval from the principal, take courses from
an approved correspondence school and receive credit toward their graduation
requirements. These courses may be taken in the required or elective course
areas.
Independent Study
Through arrangement with the principal, a student may be permitted to take
an independent study course to receive credit in an elective area. Students
enrolled in independent study courses are required to meet with a staff
member on a regularly scheduled basis to receive assistance and to determine
progress made toward completion of the course.
Incompletes
Under certain conditions, a student may be given additional time beyond
the end of the semester to erase an incomplete in a course. In order to
remove the incomplete grade, the work must be completed by the end of the
first four weeks in the following semester. Incompletes based on attendance
will require improved attendance during the following semester. |
