| Welcome in Silicon Saxony! What you can find in the USA, of course you will find it in Saxony, too. Some big firms like Siemens, AMD and Motorola invested into the future --> Chipfabs. They came to Dresden. There are many good reasons, but I think there is one fundmental reason. In times when the GDR existed, in Dresden was the main laboratory for microchips of all the komunistic countrys. In DD (DresDen) you find culture, culture and ... culture, even DD had it's own baroque style. |
| You may visit there the world famous Grüne Gewölbe, the galleries of young and old painters in the Zwinger, we have also a castle. Then there are a lot of theatres and an opera-house. There is also a technical university situated. Dresden is te capital of Saxony and here live about 450.000 people. |
