Don't expect seeing Goldberg vs. Steve Austin in the main event anytime soon. Word is that Goldberg is going to sit out the remainder of his contract with AOL/Time Warner. The two are really good friends, and are said to be considering holding their own PPV, with themselves as the main event, splitting the money.
I am not 100% sure that these are real or not. This is what I heard
WCW house shows won't start until early fall which means that during summer, all there would be is one WCW TV show with no other events throughout the week. As far as pay-per-views go, the tentative month is to start them in September, although that's still in consideration.
The first WWF-ran WCW show, tentatively scheduled for May 9th, has been postponed. The new date for the first TV taping is Saturday, June 9. The program is planned to air tape delay on TNN later the same night, from 11:00 PM to 1:00 AM.
In a radio interview this morning, Ric Flair said he and Arn Anderson have had talks about possibly forming a regional promotion. Flair said he was writing a book. He also says he believes another major wrestling promotion will start up soon.
Lex Luger and longtime friend Sting are currently planning to start their own wrestling federation called Main Event Wrestling. Luger and Sting already own their string of gyms, also named Main Event. Big names expected to partake in this federation include Rick Steiner, The Franchise, Viscera, Jeff Jarrett, The Road Dogg, and possibly even Goldberg, also the majority of released WCW wrestlers and staffare going to be picked up too. The Wrestling promotion is currently working out a deal with FOX network to settle a Monday Timeslot which will go head-to-head with RAW is War. They said the promotion will be ready to air around the end of April/beginning of may so that they can attract the WCW viewers before WCW comes back.
Well, if most WCW wrestlers are going to take part in Sting and Luger's Main Event Wrestling Federation, it means that THIS PAGE will PROBABLY get a new name - maybe: "Xtreme Main Event Wrestling"....but right now, I can't say anything...I don't know what's going to happen, anyway. We'll have to wait and see.
WCW wrestlers state that Sting will probably accept a buyout of his contract if offered since he has no real interest in returning to wrestling or working for the WWF.
