A Journey of Wonder

As I was a little child
I had to learn the ways
Of the world the grown-ups
wanted me to see

A world no longer full of myth
But real in every way
Where never any room would be
For child'eren to play

I had to learn that tales of Kings
Of Fairies and of Queens
Were just that, a tale or two
And could not be seen

As real and living wordly goods
As property and wealth
As what made people valuable
As what made mankind count

I learned that lesson
Well, I think
And followed it where led
But deep within my inner self

That little girl did stay
Every morning she gets up
And with her eyes of blue
She gazes at the beauty

Of a world, born new
She goes out and talks to trees
Embraces life and light
And tries hard,

Naye, deperately
To get all in a fight
To save what precious is still left
What wonder she can see

For in the eyes of children
She knows that one day'll be
The same look of acceptance
Of what the world became

And the grown-up world
Where she now lives
Will do what it can
To take away these fairy-tales
To turn them in to "THEM".
