Well just to put my two cents in, I recently did tyhe I6 to V8 swap. I have a 1965 coupe. I did the swap in December of 2001. Finished right before 2002. SO I still have it freshly in my head. It is alot of work as everyone is saying, but I learned so much about my car. I had an awesome time doing it, but I did it with a donor car. I changed the rear end, the tranny, converted to front disc brakes, 5 bolt wheels, and a few little mods, such as the fuel line and other things. It was a great learnin experience and I did it with the help of one other person in a matter of 3-4 days. So it is do-able in a short period of time, and it cost be about 1500 bucks, i got most of the parts for cheap. So if you are still thinkin about it, I hope this helps.
