VOLUNTEERS Southfour would like to thank all those who have volunteered this 2006/2007 season. I specially thank the coaches for giving up a lot of hours for our children. We had a good season due to your generosity, and hope to see you again in the new season. Still, Southfour needs to fill certain position to create a better basketball community. We are in dire need of new volunteers to learn roles and responsibilities of the current executive volunteers. Southfour has had the same core of executive volunteers for the last 4 years and will be leaving at the end of this season. These positions are key to running this basketball community, if they are not filled, there is no Southfour Basketball. Available Positions: Please email Dawn Osborne, Southfour President at, hollaback66@hotmail.com if you're interested in the following positions: Equipment Manager, Special Events Coordinator, and Registrar. Anyone interested in coaching or being an Age Group Coordinator, please contact Ed Malate at south4bball@yahoo.ca Volunteer positions in each team are also needed. Coaches, assistant coach, manager, phone parent, score keepers. Each player should provide a volunteer. VOLUNTEER POSITIONS PRESIDENT: attend CMBA meetings liaison with CMBA and other basketball communities; Chair Southfour meetings; review and approve imports and transfers between CMBA communities; find volunteers as needed for CMBA and Southfour Basketball; coordinate executive handle disciplinary problems with parents, coaches, and players PAST PRESIDENT: assist President VICE PRESIDENT: assist President; attend executive meetings; help resolve disciplinary problems with parents, coaches, and players TREASURER: maintain all banking information; deposit all funds received; monitor all expenditures; provide cheques for all expenditures and refunds; provide annual budget; provide annual financial report and updates as required; attend executive meetings EQUIPMENT MANAGER: check
uniforms, balls, first aid kits for quality; distribute and collect equipment; REGISTRAR: maintain
information for on line registrations (SPORG); receive in person registrations SECRETARY: take minutes at meetings; handle correspondence as required; attend executive meetings GYM COORDINATOR: find gyms; books gyms with the city or other sources; provide gym schedule for evaluations; provide gym schedule for all teams; provide coaches with complete listing of gym schedules WEBSITE: update website; improve website material and display; attend executive meetings FUNDRAISER COORDINATOR: organize casino fundraiser TEAM PICTURE COORDINATOR: select photographer, organize and schedule team pictures SPECIAL EVENTS COORDINATOR: organize clinics and volunteer appreciation COACHING COORDINATOR: help find coaches for each team; help organize and assist with evaluations; assist with player placement; select or find Age Group Coordinators; provide information to coaches (police checks, welfare checks, CMBA rules...) organize coaches meeting AGE GROUP COORDINATORS: contact all players of evaluation dates and times; select evaluators; ensure players are given a fair and objective evaluation; help distribute coaches across the teams; help find coaches for all teams; help resolve issue of player placements; help resolve issues between teams and coaches
