Apple Software:

7.5.5 SCSI Server Update -- this extension should be installed in all PPC Workgroup Servers running System 7.5.5 and AppleShare 4.2.x to prevent a system hang.

Apple CD-ROM software 5.32 (646K)  -- this is the most recent version from apple it includes improvements such as compatibility with most CD-ROM drives. It also includes Apple CD Audio Player.

AppleGuide 2.11 (421K) -- this is the newest release of AppleGuide, Apple's useful system software that ties in lots of support for help with using different applications and your Macintosh.

AppleShare Work Station Install 3.65 (1053) -- this is the newest version of Apple's Work Station Install, with the AppleShare 3.65 extension.

Apple Video Player and Software 1.51 part1 (816K) and part 2 (717K) -- (download both pieces ) This is Apple's newest version of the Apple Video Software, for those of you with an Apple Video Card in your machines.  

Apple Vision 1.52 Part 1 (1388K), Part 2 (1422K), Part 3 (1167K) Download all three parts . The latest system software for your AppleVision and AudioVision displays. You need Disk Copy 6.12 (457K) to use the disk images included in this download.

CFM 68K 4.0 (290K) -- if you have a 68K macintosh and want to run Open Doc, Cyberdog, or LaserWritrer Software, you must have this version of the CFM runtime enabler.

ColorSync 2.12 (254K) -- Allows color printers to printout exactly what you see on the screen rather than a warped version of what you should have had. Very useful for printing out color pictures.

Cyberdog 2.0 (PPC) (3668K) and 68K (3734K) -- Apple's newest web browser that uses Open Doc Technology. It gets mail, news, has embedded pictures, movies, and more, check it out. You need Open Doc 1.2 to use Cyberdog and CFM 4.0 if you have a 68K mac.

Disk Copy 6.12 (457K) this application from Apple will read any disk image and allow you to mount it, and place it on a floppy or your hard drive.  This version is needed to use Apple System Software Updates avaiible on line.

Disk First Aid 7.2.2 (71K) -- Apple's newest disk first aid that is bundled with every system update, you should use this to avoid disk corruption.

Display Enabler 2.22 (240K) -- this is the newest version of the display enabler extension, for those of you who have a PowerMac 6100, 7100, or 8100 and AppleVision 1710 with System 7.61. You need Disk Copy 6.12 (457K) to extract this file after you download it.

 English Text-to-Speech 1.5 (5267K) -- The latest release of Apples Text-to-Speech software which many programs use to talk through your speakers. Even Netscape has plugins that take advantage of this system software.

L2 Cache Reset (10K) -- this extension fixes Apple's Level 2 cache problem for computers using Mac OS 7.6.1 or the "54xx/64xx Update 1.1" extension. This is intended for 54xx/64xx computers, but should work with clones suffering from the same problem after installing system 7.61.

Laser Writer Software 8.4.1 (5394K) -- Get the newest software for you Apple Laser Writer.

Mac OS Runtime for Java 1.02 (4047K) -- this system software brings the java runtime environment to the Mac OS. It allows you to run java applications and make & run embedded java applets in some applications. It also requires Open Doc to run the Apple Applet viewer.

MacPPP 2.53 (129K) this control panel / extension is Apple's Internet Connection software for the Internet. This version fixes problems with connection scripts and Internet Service Providers. You need Disk Copy 6.12 (457K) to extract this file after you download it.

ObjectSupportLib 1.2 (25K) -- The newest version of this shared library, which fixes many bugs with previous versions. Netscape, Eudora, etc... use this extension.

Open Doc 1.2 (4308K) -- Apple's new components technology. It allows you to use parts of different applications in another application that supports Open Doc technology.

Open Doc Essentials Kit 1.01 (2203K) -- This is a small collection of Apple's Open Doc parts "essential" to your collection. It includes Apple Draw, Apple 3DMF Viewer, Apple Audio, Apple Button, and Apple Image Viewer.

Open Transport 1.1.2 -- Part 1 (859K), Part 2 (719K), Part 3 (688K), Part 4 (752K) (You must download all four files!!) You can also download Open Transport 1.1.2 Net Install (10MB) but this file is huge and includes all kinds of stuff, like Acrobat Reader, MacPPP, Claris Emailer update, etc...) The newest version of Apple's new networking software that also works with 5xxx - 6xxx Macs. Open Transport is a big step above MacTCP networking. Here is a list for Open Transport 1.1.1 downloads, if you need that version.

 Open Transport PPP 1.0 (1636K) -- This PPP from Apple allows you to establish a PPP connection based on Open Transport technology. It increases your speed of connection in some circumstances. 

Open Transport Slow Patch (8K) -- This tiny application is an unsupported hack from Apple (Maybe) that seems to fix problems with slow connections with servers and users running Open Transport.

PowerPC Interrupt Extension 1.0 (36K) -- If you are using System 7.5.5 and have a PowerMac, download this extension and put it in your extensions folder.

 QuickDraw 3D 1.51 part 1 (764K), part 2 (1913K), part 3 (1380K) (download all 3 parts) -- The new system software enhancement that allows PowerMacs to manipulate and make 3D images.This software is being developed extensivly for use in many new programs and some applications may require these extensions to run.

QuickTime 2.5 (2885K) -- used by tons of programs, especially multimedia applications, if you don't have it, or the latest release download it now. QuickTime, Quicktime PowerPlug and QuickTime Musical Instruments extensions are included in this package. It also includes the newest version of Movie Player and its QTVR plug-in.

QuickTime MPEG software 1.0 (692K) -- this system software allows you to play MPEG movies through Apple's QuickTime technology. This package also includes Movie Player 2.51, a new Thread Manager and the QuickTime MPEG extension. You can play Movie CD's with this software!

QuickTime VR 2.0 (349K) -- this system software gives you the newest version of QuickTime Virtual Reality system software, which allows many programs to recognize QTVR movies and to play them, provided you have QuickTime 2.5 installed. It also includes many enhancements to previous versions of QTVR and the QTVR lib.

System 7.5.3 Custom Install script (174K) -- If you need to custom install some components from 7.5.3 but you have system 7.5.5 use this script. Follow all the documentation and reinstall 7.5.5 afterwards.

 System Profiler 1.01 (413K) -- This small application for PowerMacs tells you what kind of processor you have, versions of your installed extensions, control panels, and system software, hard disk type, etc...

Xclaim VR Software 2.01 (1600K) -- this includes the most recent release of the Xclaim VR Software, and System software for you Xclaim VR PCI Card. It also includes ATI Graphics Accelerator 1.2.2, which is a newer than the version installed by System 7.6.1.

To Download this software you can either download the entire package all at once (This is not recommended!) or you can download it in 14 segments. Click on any link below to start downloading software.

Complete software package (21159K)

You must download all these files below, if you choose this option. You must also have either Disk Copy 4.2 (53K) (If you want it on 14 floppies ) or Shrink Wrap 2.1 (377K) (if you want to install it off your Hard Drive). If you use Shrink Wrap, make sure you put all the resulting folders (look in B&W disks after you double click on the .image files) into another folder. You must also copy the file, "Installer" and "Install system 7.5 Update" from the folder "System 7.5 update 2.0 - 1", and place those two in the same folder you stuck the 14 other folders, making a total of 16 items in that folder. (make sure you keep everything in it's own folder and don't remove ANYTHING or rename anything). Double click the installer, and your on your way. You should restart your computer with the shift key down before installing this update to prevent problems.

You must be using System 7.53 to use this update (available above). This is a BIG update to system performance, keeps your mac from crashing as much, increased speed under virtual memory,and ethernet................. and many others. Well you get the picture, just download it. Go to this page with a list of servers, and take your pick. (I recommend Dark Horse).

System 7.6.1 Update

Go here to obtain system 7.61 update. For users of System 7.6 comes a a big system error update, which eliminates many errors forcing you computer to restart. Many other issues have been resolved with this update and system stability has increased. All users of System 7.6 should install this software. You may need Disk Copy 6.12 (457K) to use this update if you don't select the Net-Install Package.
