Background
Alicia Silverstone launched her career at
the age of six in a series of swimsuit snapshots taken by
her father. Those photo's began a steady steam of
modeling gigs which includes the 'Domino's TV
Commercial', and a bit part in 'The Wonder Years' as
Kevin's (Fred Savage) dreamgirl. In 1993 she landed her
first feature film in 'The Crush' as Darian Forrester, an
obsessed girl with Nick Elliot (played by Cary Elwes).
The movie gave her the opportunity to be noticed by the
MTV Movie Awards in 1994 in which she won the category
for Best Villain and Breakthrough Performance. Then came
the Aerosmith videos which made her capture the hearts of
teens. Her biggest movie so far was 'Clueless' (1995) in
which she played Cher. Now, she has her own production
company (First Kiss Productions) with 'Excess Baggage' as
its first movie offering released in August 1997.
Facts
She refused to appear nude on film and repeatedly turned
down her role in The Babysitter until all nudity was axed
from the script. She also had a body double used for her
bath scene in 'The Crush'. Alicia is an outspoken animal
rights activist and owns five dogs. She participates in
animal rescues and appears at charity functions when her
Hollywood schedule allows.
