OsteoInteractive: this web page is provided by the Spencer S. Eccles Health Sciences Library at the University of Utah Health Sciences Center. It has excellent resources for Human Osteology and Forensic Anthropology, but the Paleopathology and Histology pages still need some work. [site is dead as of 21 May 2009]
The Forensic Anthropology Center: the web page of the University of Tennesee Anthroplogy Department. This is one of the pioneering institutions in the field.
The Virtual Skeleton: Human Osteology: this is an interactive web site to study the human skeleton. It requires the use of the QuickTime ActiveX control. It is sponsored by the University of Wyoming Anthropology Department.
Human Evolution: A site discussing major discoveries and people associated with them; and the history of the field as a discipline. It is provided by the Minnesota State University at Mankato and it also contains a nice glossary of terms.
Talk.Origins Archive: Exploring Exploring the Creation/Evolution Controversy: This site developed from a UseNet group on evolution. It is quite extensive and worth exploring all the different topics. It contains the archives of the UseNet discussions as well as links to other web sites with informtation.
Forensic Anthropology: the website of Dr. A. Midori Albert of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. She has created a good website exploring the topic and provides information about her classes.
Louisiana State University FACES Laboratory: Forensic Anthropology and Computer Enhancement Services: this is the website of the forensic anthropology program at LSU. They are pioneers of forensic skull reconstruction.
Becoming Human: Paleoanthropology, Evolution, and Human Origins : a nice interactive web site by The Institute of Human Origins in California. This is the companion site to a documentary created in 2001, so it is somewhat dated. However, it has an extensive glossary in the 'resources' section.
The Human Origins Program Resource Guide to Paleoanthropology: provided by the by the Smithsonian Institution National Museum of Natural History. This is a well-put together site and has detailed descriptions of various fossil forms.
WWW Virtual Library: Anthropology: this is a site sponsored by Anthro TECH, a private company in Colorado. It contains links to various topics, and its stated purpose is to provide web services to enhance the study of anthropology. The virtual library links are free to use,however.
