2001
was the year that changed the German pop
scene, and here she comes, Sarah Connor.
Hitting the German charts at #2 with her
debut single, "Let's Get Back To Bed
- Boy", a collaboration with US
rapper TQ, was the German lass'
breakthrough in Germany. Borned on the 13
of June, 1980; Sarah grew up listening to
soul music and blues. Some of her
influences, such as soul diva Aretha
Franklin, moulded who Sarah is today. |
"French
Kissing" was then her next single,
but in disappointment to the follow up,
it only managed to peak at #26. Sarah was
also given a chance to express herself by
writing her own songs, including
"From Sarah With Love", which
was due to be her third single. |
|
"From Sarah With Love"
finally gotten the credit Sarah deserves,
it hit #1 on German charts and stayed
there for consecutively 3 weeks. It was
also considered as a major hit around
some European countries, such as Austria,
Sweden and Poland. By then, Sarah
released her first full LP, "Green
Eyed Soul". It peaked at #2 on the
album charts and was one of the best
selling albums in 2002. Of course, fame
never gets into Sarah's head. She won a
couple of Echo Awards, "Best
Newcomer" in Comet 2001 (equivalent
to Grammys) and few other unanimous
achievements that other German acts has
not done.

|
That
is where Sarah gets in touch with album
number #2. The first single off the album
"One Nite Stand (Of Wolves and
Sheep)", with collaboration with
ex-Fugees star Wyclef Jean, made it to #5
on the German charts. The album,
"Unbelievable" also managed to
hit the Top 10 on the first week, selling
over 150,000, making it gold within a
week. The follow up singles from the
album also did fairly well; "Skin On
Skin" - #5, "He's
Unbelievable" - #16,
"Bounce" - #12. The single
Bounce, also helped to open the sales for
the album "Sarah Connor", which
is released in the US. Sarah also
earned international fame such as selling
over 10,000 units over at Southeast Asia,
hitting #1 on the Korean charts (Skin On
Skin) and almost got onto US Billboard's
Top 100.
|
In
late 2003, good news arrived as Sarah was
pregnant! Of course, she will not neglect
her fans for supporting her for the last
2 albums, also Sarah released her third
CD, "Key To My Soul" as a
dedication to her fans and her loved ones
(Marc Terenzi of US boyband Natural and
their soon-to-come baby). It peaked at
#8, and had done credible sales in
Germany. The spin off single from the
album, "Music Is The Key" with
a new German acapella group
"Naturally 7", also hit #1 on
the charts. The second single, "Just
One Last Dance" also managed to have
the same success as the previous single,
churning Sarah a total of 3 number one
singles. |

|
After
the baby break, Sarah was back on the
charts, as her new single, "Living
To Love You" hits #1. The sentiment
ballad was also included on her fourth
album, entitled "Naughty But
Nice". |
And
for a lashing comeback, Sarah released
her second single from it, "From
Zero To Hero", as the soundtrack to
the German version of the anime,
"Robots". The video also
includes snippets of the movie clips.
"From Zero To Hero" hit #1 on
the charts, and with her follow up album,
"Naughty But Nice", ALSO hit #1
on the album charts. It was the FIRST
number one album from Sarah, and it has
gotten great critics of it from German
media. |

|
Sarah
will not stop working for her fans,
still. She was married to Marc Terenzi,
and even gotten a reality show
("Sarah and Marc In Love") with
him (like Newlyweds of Jessica Simpson
and Nick Lachey). The show has gotten
good ratings and fans start to know more
about Sarah and her life, along with her
new family member, Tyler Terenzi. At October 2005,
Sarah will do her second German tour (the
first being "Green Eyed Soul"
period), performing songs off her latest
album, "Naughty But Nice" and
of course some of fans favourites such as
"From Sarah With Love".
|
For a
bit for Chrismassy feel for year 2005,
Sarah decided to release another album,
but this time its for Christmas, entitled
"Christmas In My Heart". The
single, with the same title, did
respectively well and ended the year with
a heartfelt bunch of songs. |
