Annie was called by the surname "Bushnell" in the 1891 census, after her mother's marriage to George Bushnell in 1872. I haven't established who Annie's father was. In 1891 she was working as a domestic servant.
They were living at 96 Magdalen Road in Cowley, Oxford - opposite Thomas Henry Young whom she later married. Annie had twin sons who both died at only 2 days old. Thomas Young is thought to have been the father, but at that stage they weren't married. The boys were buried on 9th December 1889 in Cowley. There was no service for them, and they were buried in unconsecrated ground.
