Early History

The St. Cono American Society, located at 23 Richardson Street, Brooklyn NY, 11211 was re-established from the original St. Cono Society which was started around 1935.  Some of the original members of 1935 are as follows:

Present History

The re-established Society started February 1988, and was incorporated August 1988.  Known as the St. Cono American Society, its first meeting was held February 1988 in a storefront at Graham Avenue, Brooklyn, NY, and was attended by 45 people.  The meetings were continued at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Shrine Church at North 8'th and Havermayer Streets in Brooklyn.  A year later the Capobianco brothers: Joseph, Chico, Sal, Paul, and Emil built a club at 23 Richardson Street for the Society.  The re-established Society's founding Directors are Carmine Marotta, Jr., and Sammy (Saverio) Sanseverino.  The Society is a religious entity open to all nationalities, and is a Charitable Society.
 
 

Present & Former Officers

Presidents
The first President of the re-established Society was Joseph Capobianco (1988-1989).
The current President & Founder is Sammy (Saverio) Sanseverino.

Vice President
The first Vice President & Co-Founder was Carmine Marotta, Jr.
The current Vice President is Mary Frances Heinz.

Treasurers
The first Treasurer was Marion Annunziatta.
The current Financial Treasurer is Joanne Rainone.

Secretary
The first Secretary was Concetta DePaola.
The current Secretary is Rosemary Heller.

Correspondence Secretary
The first Correspondence Secretary was Tina Ann Pesiri.

Spiritual Advisor
Our Spiritual Advisor is Monsignor Joseph P. Calise of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Shrine Church.
 
 

San Cono Strada

In the year 1989 Richardson Street between Lorimer Street, and Union Avenue was second-named San Cono Strada, with the help of then Councilman Abe Gerges.  This was the last Bill signed into Law by former Mayor Edward I. Koch.
 
 

Feast Days

The three Feast Days of Saint Cono are June 3'rd, September 27'th, and December 17'th.
