Jan Gentry Chat Transcript

Visitor: Did you lie to anyone in the game?

Survivor Jan: Gosh, I just can't think...probably. I didn't mean to lie, but I just can't imagine being there playing that game with all those people and not lying. I'm sure I said something, but I can't remember it.

Visitor: Helen said that your family had to eat more stuff than we saw on TV, what did they have to eat?

Survivor Jan: Oh, yeah! They left out two courses! They had big worms and they had grasshoppers, and my son Jeff said the worst was the waterbugs that squired all over and the grasshopper, which was so dry he couldn't get it down. So, there were two courses left out! God, I'm glad it was them! You have to sacrifice your children sometimes. [laughs]

Visitor: Jan, did you bring home any props or souvenirs?

Survivor Jan: I brought home the wooden spoons we used to eat and a coconut that was our bowl, and I brought home a couple of the ribbons that were wrapped around the paper that we read (the Tree Mail). AND a wine bottle! [laughs]

Visitor: Were you mad at Helen for siding with the guys when Ghandia was voted off?

Survivor Jan: I wasn't mad, but I did feel like she kinda left me out to dry, 'cuz Clay does not forgive and forget. Actually I was voting with her and Ghandia because of what Helen said. She used to work for a rape counsel thing and she said "Jan, I really think something happened and we need to get rid of this" but then she forgot to tell me that she switched back! But it's a game, and they can say they're going to vote one way but then change, and that's just the way it is! You can't get angry, and you know what? I never even asked her why she changed her mind or why she didn't tell me.

Visitor: Jan, when you gonna pose for Playboy?

Survivor Jan: [laughs] When the granny edition comes out! When they're looking for a drop a** and droopy boobies! [laughs]

Visitor: I loved you, Jan! I applied for SURVIVOR 7. What do you think is the best luxury item to bring?

Survivor Jan: Some entertainment, because of the downtime. The golf club was great; we had a miniature golf thing going. Brian played the guitar; that was great. Jed took his frisbee. It's just nice if you have an activity that everybody can enjoy. Just something to help with the downtime, 'cuz that's when the conniving gets goin'! [laughs]

Visitor: Did you think Clay was lazy?

Survivor Jan: Yeah! I think he saved his energy for the Challenges, which is smart. Because he had a pulled muscle in his leg, and it was wrapped, and he was really trying to save that. He occasionally tried to help, but he was funny. I mean, you have to laugh, it was so funny. But he's a good guy.

Visitor: Jan, did you see Brian's adult movie yet?

Survivor Jan: I KNEW IT! No, I haven't, and if I had, I would have paid more attention to details. He had the cutest little naked butt. I'm old, I'm not dead!

Visitor: Who smelled the worst in the Chuay Ghan tribe?

Survivor Jan: You know, that's funny, we never smelled anyone! The only time I smelled some of the people was coming back from the Challenge, and you could smell the bodies. But I have the football team in my house all the time because of my youngest son. It smelled like sweat. But that was just one time. And then Jeff, my son that was out there, picked me up at the airport and said "Mama, we didn't want to tell you, but y'all smelled worse than we have ever smelled anything!"

Visitor: Congratulations on making it so far! You are such an inspiration! My question is, how has SURVIVOR changed your life? Do you get a lot of people coming up to you and wanting your autograph?

Survivor Jan: Yes, I can't go to Walmart any more! I can't get through the store! Yes, they do want my autograph, and I always make sure that I shake their hand and ask them their name. I'm not any more important than they are. I always thank them for watching the show. How this has changed my life and for the better! I know it's a surprise that I'm a hyper person, and it's slowed me down to enjoy the moment. So, now when people say what are you going to do tomorrow or in a week? I say I don't know, I'm enjoying right now. Mark and Jeff taught me that: to savor the moment, because it goes so fast.

SURVIVOR Host: Well everyone, I am sorry to say that our time with Jan us up. Thanks again for being here to chat with with us Jan!

Survivor Jan: Thank y'all for calling me and askin' me!
