It is now 7 months since this epic adventure ended. I (Rob)
am writing this last entry from my office desk in Adelaide,
Australia. I'm back to wearing a suite and tie and being one
of the little grey men that infest the world. Scott has taken
the more adventurous path of returning (with Nyathi) to Zambia
to investigate opportunities for himself there. He is
particularly interesting in farming, but the flow-on effects
from what is happening right now in Zimbabwe may make things
interesting.
We finished our adventure in Kenya in Feb 2003. With funds
starting to run short and the prospect of taking our not particularly
reliable Nyathi on the somewhat suspect roads of North Africa,
we decided to stop while still ahead. It was with heavy hearts
that we stopped facing northwards and split up in our various
directions.
This trip was a defining experience for both of us in very
many ways and I whole-heartedly recommend a similar adventure
for everyone at least once in ones life.
