Welcome to my wildflower photo album

blueline.gif

All photographs on this page were taken in the Adirondack Region of New York State by myself. The wildflowers range from the most common weed found in the lawn or garden to the most showy and beautiful species rarely ever seen by anyone.

We commonly think of unwanted plants in your lawn or garden as just pesky weeds. Yet as we look closer at the flowers of the most pesky and unwanted weed, we can see the true beauty of nature. Some will rival the most exotic and rare flowers in their beauty.

It is my belief that every flower, no matter how small or how large, has a great beauty all it's own that God has made special, just for us. So if you will just take the time to look and see, and smell the flowers along the way, you will see and smell some of God's most precious handy work.

All the wildflowers are listed alphabetically and I have included the flowers scientific names so as not to confuse it with another species. I hope you enjoy photographs as much as I have enjoyed hunting for them and photographing them.

Note: Most, but not all, wildflower descriptions are from Roger Tory Peterson's "A Field Guide to Wildflowers", however, the photographs are my own.
