brief rant on Keenites.
How cool God is that what we’re doing is actually effective. Like, wow that God would use us crap as we are to spread his word. In Keenites we did 2wtl for kiddies.. God created everything, we sin, we are cut off from God, Jesus pays the price for us, we must choose: God’s way or our way, what it means to live God’s way, revision and Gospel beads. We challenged the kids to make a decision and to tell us this decision. A lot of them rocked up to us and say that they wanna live God’s way.. cos he’s the best. We were able to pray with quite a few of them. And it wasn’t in one ear and out the other… they actually remember the stories and things and were able to tell the gospel from the beads. Some of them could also remember the memory verses.. eg 1 John chapter 4 verse 9 it says “God showed his love for us by sending his only Son into the world so that we might have life through him.” “Remember the Lord” was THE song. Excellent words and fantastic actions! (cos we made them up) Considering that a lot of these kids don’t go to church or anything the rest of the year, it was amazing what they could learn and understand. And even if they are only saying they follow Jesus now without really knowing what they’ve committed themselves to, I spose the seed has been sown. Hopefully what they learnt in Keenites will keep gnawing at them.
