Support for our Project

The work of the The Keiki Kohola project could not have been accomplished without the help and support of several individuals and also without our financial sponsors. We would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank these individuals and their organizations:

The Early Years Project:
The Early years project is an umbrella organization that provides funds to support research aimed at ensuring the protection of mother and calf humpback whales whilst in US waters. The support that the Early Years Project has extended has been invaluable, allowing the project to continue over the last three years. Mark Percival is the founder and president of the Early Years Project. Mark's encouragement and support has been a major source of motivation throughout. Recently the Early Years project donated two 1:10 scale model humpback whales to the project. These are being used to collect funds to support the continuing work of the Keiki Kohola Project.

The Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary:
The Keiki Kohola project received a grant from the Sanctaury that provided much needed finances to cover our 2000 field costs.

Princess Cruises
A small grant received from Princess Cruises was used to cover costs of collecting data and producing fluke catalogues in the 1999 season.

Tradewinds Graphics
Rob Hawes, the president of Tradewinds Graphics, has provided graphics, logos and T.Shirt designs since the start of the project and also produced the poster that was displayed at the 13th World Marine Mammal Conference.

Ultimate Rafting Maui
Ted Mickowski of Ultimate Rafting has provided camera equipment for use on the project and helped cover costs of film and photo processing. Ted's help in the early stages of the project was particularly appreciated.

Jack Hawes
Jack covered the costs of T.Shirt production, a great help in fund rasing in our 2000 season.

Dean Wilson - Pacific Gold Photography
Dean has helped in the production of fluke catalogues and other PR materials that have been used to support the project.

Mark Robinson - Hawaiian Rafting Adventures
Mark Robinson, of Hawaiian Rafting Adventures made very timely donations to help cover fuel costs in the early days of the project his help was invaluable in allowing the work of the team to continue.
