Video clips are listed by reverse chronological order in terms of capture date. The dates listed are the actual video being shot. Due to web storage problem, only the latest one is on-line. Old clips were archived in my home PC. If interested, you may request to email to you directly any archived clips.
I captured most clips in AVI format using 24-bit, Cinepak
Codec, ~40kB/s. Although the original videos come in Hi-Fi Stereo
sound, web storage limits me to use 11kHz, 8-bit mono sound.
Wide-open-throttle (WOT) during cornering need to be performed by a trained person with specialized equipment. Attempting the maneuver without the above will lead to excessive wheel-spin, reduced overall speed, power slide, lost of control, property damage, personal injury or even death. Kids, don't try it at home without parental guidance.
That's exaggerating. But keep in mind that I'm not trying to promote power-sliding in autocrossing. None of my fastest runs had any power slide like the ones below. But 4-wheel-drifts are definitely more exciting to watch than fastest runs. I remember an experienced autoX buddies said, "A fast run is usually done by a non-spectacular car in a non-spectacular run!"

June '99 Seattle International Raceway
(1451kB, 30fps full-frame MPEG with hi-quality stereo sound) --
just out of turn 3b after passing a slow car, had to move aside
to let the fast Elise thru'!
This time, I would like to include a number of sound recordings (.mp3 files, please let me know if you can't play the sound) of my current setup (as of July '99 but now out-dated, when I first started this page update, RB 4-2-1 header with Cool-It header wrap, JR hi-flow cat, JR catback, custom 3" intake pipe, Akimoto-clone filter with air funnel, HKS VPC, 1-deg/2-deg cam retard on intake/exhaust). All recordings were made with top-down at my back yard.
Camcorder on passenger seat.
Camcorder at driver position, ear level.
Camcorder at driver position, facing right.
Camcorder at driver position, facing left.
Camcorder on on console facing forward.
Camcorder on console facing rearward.
Camcorder at driver position, facing opened
driver door. I like this one the most. How about you?
July '98
Seattle International Raceway (185kB, 4.2s, 210x150, 44kB/s,
15fps) -- at 180km/h, "things" passed me like crazy! If
you have MP3 player, also download the following sounds. They'll
bring you closer to the race track!
Accelerating
from the pit at Seattle International Raceway. At that time, the
car was equipped with Racing Beat header, Jackson Racing hi-flow
cat, RS-R catback exhaust, HKS VPC, aggressive 8-deg/10-deg
retard cam timings on the intake/exhaust respectively, four-inch
diameter funnel (came with the Akimoto cone filter) fitted
directly to the throttle body, camcorder with hi-fi sound mounted
on the roll-bar at about eye-level as the driver, open top.
Accelerating
from the pit at Seattle International Raceway. Integra Type R
first and then followed by me. Identical setup as above.
Sept
'97 Tradex Abbotsford (293kB, 4.9s, 232x68, 60kB/s, 30fps) -- a
nice angle to see a power slide out of a U-turn.
April '95
Lansdowne Mall Richmond (284kB, 2.6s, 229*90, 100kB/s, 30fps) --
see how I avoided the cones pointed to by the yellow arrows!
June '96
Tradex Abbotsford (510kB, 8.3s, 198x65, 60kB/s, 30fps) -- entry
speed too fast. Even countersteer at full lock with full throttle
didn't help.
June '94
Tradex Abbotsford (215kB, 4.2s, 160x60, 30fps) -- a third gear
chicane, skiding to the left for a few seconds with full
throttle, then fishtail to the right. Another pendulum effect
resulting in a spin.
June '97 PNE
Vancouver (186kB, 4.9s, 170x60, 30fps) -- a barely noticeable
power slide, but already seemed irrecoverable in the cockpit.
