All shoreline work / construction along Preston Lake:

All residents who are planning any work / construction near or on the shoreline MUST receive proper clearance from the Toronto Region Conservation Authority prior to beginning any work.

It is important that we stress to ALL homeowner's the significance of our lake, shorelines and fish habitats. As most homeowner's are aware, the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville governs property regulations with respect to building and construction within our Municipality. When it comes to the Lake however, a different governing body is in charge. The Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) in conjunction with the Toronto Region and Conservation Authority is responsible for all of Preston Lake and its shorelines.

If you are considering any work or construction on or near the shoreline (this includes your own property), please review the official TRCA Property Clearance Application form that must be submitted to them along with 3 copies of a site plan and 1 copy of a legal site survey (The details are included in this form).

It's with continued cooperation from our residents that we are able to maintain one of the cleanest and most efficient kettle lakes in Southern Ontario. Thank you for your continued cooperation.

Pride & Preston Lake
