Piknik
PASGC rozpoczal sie meczem siatkowki Polonia Columbus vs. Polonia Cincinnati. Tym razem nasze koszulki sponsorowalo Columbus Crew. Wygladalismy bardzo profesjonalnie i moze to zadecydowalo, ze zwyciezylismy z wielokrotnie liczniejszym przeciwnikiem. 3:0 - piekny wynik! Dziekujemy Kasi Kucharski i jej druzynie (Ela, Joanna, Darek, Jan, Marek, Richy, Tomek, Toni), oraz naszym kibicom. Za treningi, przyjazd do odleglego miasta, gre, kibicowanie.
Piknik odbyl sie przy pieknej pogodzie, wsrod malowniczego krajobrazu, w bardzo milej, rodzinnej atmosferze. Wszyscy cieszyli sie sportowym zwyciestwem: my otrzymalismy puchar za zwyciestwo w siatkowke, Cincinnati - za zwyciestwo walkowerem z druzyna pilki noznej z Cleveland. W tym roku gospodarzem spotkania byl nowomianowany prezydent PASGC - Andrzej Biernat, wspomagany przez Teda, jego poprzednika i wspaniale trzy dziewczyny - Anete, Anabel i Anike. Najprawdopodobniej za tydzien znowu zobaczymy sie z Polonia z Cincinnati, ktora przyjela zaproszenie na rewanzowy mecz podczas naszego Dorocznego Pikniku "Pod Strzecha".
PS. Tego dnia wielu skusilo sie do pozostania w domach, by kibicowac polskim siatkarzom w finalowej grze na
Mistrzostwach Europy (wygralismy ZLOTO!), lub
Columbus Crew na meczu u siebie z Houston Dynamo (2:1 - gratulujemy!).

Veni, vidi, vici! Picnic of The PASGC has started with a volleyball match
Polonia Columbus vs. Polonia Cincinnati. This time our team's shirts were
sponsored by the Columbus Crew. We looked very professional and maybe, just
maybe, that was a deciding factor in our victory over the much bigger
opposing team. 3:0 - what an impressive score! Our thanks go to Kasia
Kucharska and her team (Ela, Joanna, Darek, Jan, Marek, Rich, Tomek, Tony),
and to our fans. For the practices, the far away trip, playing, cheering. It
was a beautiful day and an attractive setting for the picnic. The atmosphere
was very friendly and family like. Everybody was celebrating our team's
victory. We have received the volleyball trophy, Cincinnati the soccer
trophy-due to a forfeited game by the Cleveland team. This year Andrzej
Biernat, the newly nominated president of the PASGC, was the host of the
event. He was being assisted by Ted, the previous president and three
wonderful young ladies-Aneta, Anabel and Anika.
Most likely we will have a chance next week to visit again with members of
the Cincinnati club which accepted our invitation for a rematch in
volleyball during our Annual Members' Picnic "At the Barn".
P.S. That day many fans decided to stay home to watch Polish national
volleyball team in the final of the European Cup (Poland won GOLD!) or to
cheer for the
Columbus Crew during the home game against Dynamo, Houston
(2:1-congratulations!)
