About the aspiring unknown

Penning AJ is my site dedicated to the creative "juices" running around in my head. AJ is my online alias and the closest you'll know me is by my real initials, JH. I was born and raised in California and have never crossed an ocean (at least in my opinion--do you fly over an ocean to get to Canada?).

Brief information

A UCLA graduate with a BA in Art History. I currently work part time as an assistant to a UCLA professor while taking design courses at my local community college. I enjoy comics, watching cartoons (you have to admire the animation and skill of those artists!), reading, writing, drawing, listening to music, and playing capoeira (a Brazilian martial art)--generally the stuff that most people like.

Goals

Studying abroad used to be one of my goals, but I've concluded that time is short and I won't be able to accomplish this goal while I'm in college. My substitute? I'd like to travel Europe for two or more weeks and Asia for a month (including Japan, Korea, China, Thailand). This might happen within in the next ten years. My other goal is to draw, paint, and write more. I would like to explore a career in illustration, publishing, or some other form where I can expand and improve my artistic skills.
